As someone who has nearly everything in this set already, there are a few drawbacks. For someone who is starting their kitchen, this is an awesome set.I got this through the vine program but I think the set is a good value for the price and probably about the price most people would spend for a wedding or house warming gift?To break the set down as far as materials go, the bowls are stainless steel but the non-slip bases say they are silicone but they don't feel that way. They are also not exactly non-slip. The graters seem to be stainless steel. The lids are not silicone, they are a flexible plastic that fits the bowls well. The egg separator is plastic. The measuring cups and spoons are not silicone. The measuring cups and spoons are pretty well made for their purpose. The remaining utensils are stainless steel (whisk and tongs) and silicone. Lots of plastic there.I did put the bowls, lids, shredders and silicone utensils in the dishwasher on a gentle, no dry cycle. I will not put them in the dishwasher again. The silicone utensils are fine in the dishwasher but I have found even silicone wears out faster if it is not hand washed.None of the items are microwave safe. None of the items are oven safe. Only the silicone utensils should be used for cooking. The bowls should be fine to put hot stuff into - for instance, cooked meat or onions, etc. to be cooled or mixed into something else. I don't think I would put the lids on though. They might warp. I don't know that, just my thinking. The bowls are solid stainless steel - hard to dent, indestructible (probably). The etched markings would be great but they do not feel etched and some of the markings - especially in the smaller bowls - are not correct. They are "close enough" unless you need to be accurate. Just to annoy me, they are marked in decimal quarts - .5 qt instead of 2 cups. They also have markings for liters.UPDATE 5/10/25: The key to the non-slip base seems to be putting something in the bowl! I whisked some pudding in one of the bowls and as soon as a I put the milk in, the bowl stayed put even while whisking with one hand. It tipped a little bit once in a while but it never tipped enough to spill.UPDATE 5/10/25: A note on the lids. They are great as covers for the bowls but they are not air tight or water tight. They are more comparable to putting foil or plastic wrap over the bowl than an actual sealable lid. It has not allowed smells to escape but if you tipped it over, it would not stay on.The largest bowl has the hole in the middle. For the purpose of stirring without splashing, I suppose that comes down to personal preference. The sides of the bowl can not be seen with the lid on so you would have to remove the lid to make sure you are mixing everything in or if you need to scrape down the bowl. And the hole is big enough to let it splash anyway just less. The awesome (to me) part of the hole in the lid is the graters. I have an electric grater and I grate cheese 2 lbs at a time. The electric grater is a pain to get out and then clean but for large amounts of cheese, it is well worth it. The problem is when I forget until the last moment that I don't have any cheese grated (or enough). That makes the electric grater not really worth it. So, I get out the manual shredder which is not all that easy to use because it slips and I have to use a plate because that's the kind of grater it is and the size is larger than we prefer. This is where the grater that comes with the bowl shines. It's the right size. Both the grating piece and the bowl are incredibly easy to clean. Just in case I need a specific amount of cheese, there's the measurements (which I have to take the lid off to see). And, I can save that cleaning for later because the bowl has a lid.The silicone utensils are on the smaller side but they have stiff handles and work great. I've gotten several of the skinny spatulas recently and I am really loving them for jars and blenders. They also work well for peanut butter and frosting.

Top quality. Kind of surprised me how well the non slip bottoms worked! The lids are so useful. First time for that and the graters too. Cool idea. Adding measurements on the inside is very useful.

We got this for our kitchen because we weee starting to have too many odds and ends that were looking sloppy and we had lots of missing parts. This set is so great because it’s very versatile w the grating lids and cooking tools. Now we can throw out our old non matching things and look more put together! Spring cleaning!!!

The quality is great, especially for the price. I have already used most of the measuring cups and a couple of the mixing bowls. Everything is very easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The lids definitely come in handy—no more wrapping bowls in plastic wrap.

Great deal for someone moving into their first home or apartment and needing kitchen basics! Everything seems high quality. It is so useful to have the mixing bowls with lids in particular!

Man, there is one thing in the kitchen that you never seem to have/have enough of, and that's mixing bowls. They are usually the, "oh yeah, we forgot to get those" item when it comes to outfitting the kitchen in your first apartment or home. When you do get them, you use them all the time. Then comes the question: glass, plastic, or stainless. Glass is non-reactive and microwaveable, but heavy. Plastic is light and possibly microwaveable, but reacts to acids (like citrus or vinegar). Finally, stainless is classic, light, and durable, but also reactive and definitely not microwaveable. I leave you to your choice. But if you are going to go stainless steel, this offering from Priority Chef is a pretty darned amazing deal. You get five nesting bowls ranging in size from 1.5 quarts, 2 quarts, 3 quarts, 4 quarts, and 5 quarts, with silicone lids to go over each. Pretty much every size you need for mixing all but really large amounts of food. The lids are airtight, so you can store food in them (but remember about the reactive surface!).Two features about these bowls that I particularly love. First, each bowl also has a silicone ring base so they don't slide around on your countertop while you are mixing. After you use a bowl with a non-slip bottom, you'll never want to use one without it again. Second, each bowl has inner measurement marks on them, so you don't necessarily need a separate measuring cup when adding ingredients. Nice! But maybe the coolest feature is that the lid on the 5 quart bowl has a pop out center, and the set comes with three graters that you can pop into the empty space: a hard cheese (parmesan-type) grater, a softer (cheddar, etc) grater, and a vegetable slicer. Put one of those things in and presto--you can grate directly into the big bowl without the need for another grater, like a box grater or a plane grater. Super convenient, super easy to clean the grates, very ingenious. As the picture on the item page shows, you can also put a hand blender through the empty pop-out space, and the rest of the lid essentially acts as a splash guard while you blend. At this point, I'm already sold on this set. BUT WAIT--there's more! It also comes with a 15-piece silicon utensils set! Spatulas, tongs, brush, measuring spoons, whisk; it's all good. Not the most high quality stuff, but it works and it's nice to have so you aren't scratching the crap out of your new stainless steel bowls with metal utensils.Nothing but good things to say about this set. If you are going to go stainless or are looking to add it to other types of bowls, this is the way to go and it's a definite buy for me.
