LAST UPDATE:The pair was not waterproof. I wore them only a couple of times before finding my feet were wet, especially the toes. I could find no visible damage to the boots. I have no idea why; this pair is simply not waterproof! I am very disappointed. Even Cliff Walker boots last a rainy season. The Ankle-Zip pairs continue to be waterproof, though.‐‐‐‐‐‐‐At first, I tried the Ankle Zip pair. They do work well and keep my feet dry when I hike with my dog and train him in wet grass. However, the Ankle Zip pair has a fixed width. On the other hand, this Mid Lace is adjustable in width. I also feel more comfortable in this pair, since I have very high insteps. Considering that, the Mid Zip definitely would not work for my feet.I still keep the Ankle Zip boots since I like their ankle height. I wish Propet would make a Ankle Lace version.Update:I find that skipping the last D-rings, the fourth from the bottom, makes my feet feel more comfortable, as I have very high insteps.I replaced the laces with "Orthostep Thin Round Athletic Nylon Shoelaces—Fused Tips—Work Boot Laces—Made in the USA," as I did with every other Propet boot.Update 2:While the rubber part dries quickly, the leather parts take longer to dry, even when the inside is completely dry. Since I hike with my dog and train him on wet grass, I decided to rotate my Propet snow boots—the Mid-Lace and two pairs of Ankle Zip—to allow more drying time.

I bought these boots for a winter trip to northern Ontario and Quebec and couldn't be happier with them. I was a little worried about the lower price compared to some others as I thought that cheaper might mean poor quality but I was wrong. They kept my feet dry and warm for the entire trip with record snowfall. They were easy to lace up, very comfortable, relatively lightweight, and did what they were supposed to do. I could not be happier with these boots and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

The shoe size needs to be 2 sizes larger than your normal size. After traveling in Russia, I found that it can still maintain warmth and waterproof performance at minus 23 degrees. But you need to wear thick warm socks. The disadvantage is the original insole, which quickly deforms and the reflective coating falls off. You need to invest in better thermal insoles. The anti-slip properties are ineffective on partially frozen marble and tiles, but any snow that clings to the insole can easily come off.

Really, my only complaint is no heal loop to help this stiff old guy get his shoes on when the dog is telling me I better hurry. Otherwise, I like this boot better than any I've bought (some still nearly new and sitting on the shelf) in years. I have huge and wide wide wide feet, but this is comfortable for hours on a concrete floor and I have a arch-support footbed on order which, I trust, will make it perfect (except for the loop). I can't lace it to the top or it chafes my shins but wrap the laces around the base of the boottop to use up the extra length and they flex nicely like that. I wouldn't complain if it had even more insulation, but that would have been off-the-charts. As it is, I put up with the 'putting-on' struggle and bless the manufacturer for an otherwise excellent fit for this 15EEE barnboot guy.

I use these for yardwork (wood stacking/splitting mostly), snow clearing, and casual hiking. Two years on, I've had to replace the bootlaces once but the boots themselves are as functional as the day they arrived at my door. A bit loose, but I have weird feet and the problem is easily fixed by simply wearing a normal pair of socks under my wool socks, a necessity for the cold weather regardless. Have tweaked my ankle a few times while hiking but they hold up very well. Often forget to take them off after working, they're so comfortable.

I have had Morton's neuroma for some time and my feet were very sensitive. I could not find ANY winter boots that were wide enough for me. I ordered the 2X width and so far it's been great. These boots don't look stylish in any way. They are OK looking, but mostly functional. They are well insulated for cold and snow. But they feel a bit heavy and the shell is a bit hard. They are still more comfortable than they look.Anyway, after trying and returning many much more expensive brands from different retailers, Propet is the only brand that offered a real extra wide shoe that finally worked for me. And that outweighs any drawbacks it may have.

These boots fit perfectly. They are nice looking, as well. I purchased them to use during winter snow here in the New York City area. As it is only the beginning of November, I have not yet had the chance to test them in winter conditions. I had been looking for winter boots for several years. I have a very wide foot with a high instep, so getting a perfect is somewhat difficult. These fit great and, important for me, they are very easy to get my feet into. A pair of boots from a very famous manufacturer that I was previously using were always too narrow and extremely difficult to get my feet into. My socks would always get pulled tight on my toes and it was very uncomfortable. These are like night and day compared to the old brand. The only reason I haven't given them 5 stars is because I haven't used them yet.UPDATE...Well, as it is now the end of December, I had the opportunity to wear them for a few days as we had a heavy snow. They performed perfectly! Fantastic grip in snow and ice, warm, totally waterproof, and, most importantly, very comfortable! I was able to wear them all day. I am so happy with them, I plan to buy another pair!

As expected, the medium width boots are a bit too wide for long narrow feet but they are much better than anything you can find in Canadian Tire in sizes over 12 none-the-less. A well-made boot, lightweight, waterproof, and comfortable enough to be worn by people suffering from neuropathy. I would definitely buy these again.

I bought these to replace my worn out North Face Chilkats. The new Chilkats looked much cheaper, and these boots had a good looking leather upper. Unpacking them from the box, they were a bit lighter than I'd expected, and the top 3 hooks for the laces were loose in their holes. Looking closely at them, I decided they would not be able to pull out and laced them up to take them out for a spin.3 long hikes later I am pleased! Very comfortable, plenty warm, and they do seem durable. Mink Oil or Snow Seal them before use, and they are quite waterproof- more so than other boots I have had that bill themselves as waterproof.I wear 2 pairs of thick socks, so I ordered these .5 size larger and in the EEE width so everything would fit. This was a good call as the boots fit snugly enough to provide good footing, but no pinching or tightness anywhere. Finally, I got these on sale from Amazon for $57! If they last 1 year (I hike and snowshoe 2-300 miles per winter) I will be happy! They look like they will.UPDATE, May 2015: I hiked ALL winter long in these boots and they show almost no wear. I am really pleased that I'll be getting at least one more, and probably 2-3 more years out of a pair of $60 boots. You do need to wear GOOD socks with them to keep your feet warm, but these boots exceeded my expectations by far!
