Even though your paddle floats, it can get away from you in swift waters. Great for when I am reeling in a fish from my kayak and the paddle escapes me. Do not notice any tension when paddling from the tether.

Love this kayak leash! Unfortunately, it is my 3rd one of these because my husband keeps disconnecting it from my kayak and loses one/both sections of the leash. So annoying!!

Not good for much. This is a really short leash. It may get to the advertised 5 feet but you have to stretch it to its limit. It is probably not good in reality for anything more than 20 inches or so.

No way to secure it to a paddle or rod. The one I received does not look like the picture. I called the manufacturer and the person I spoke with could not answer my question as to whether the one I received was defective or if it is what it is. Still waiting on a call back. I will be returning this.
