It filters very well, I have used other HEPA vacuums that leaked mold spores; I used a Dylos particle on the exhaust counter (see photo) and after maybe 5 min, the vacuum exhaust showed 0 for 2.5 microns & 1 for .5. It may have gone to 0,0 if I waited longer. For reference, another high-end consumer HEPA vacuum I used exhausted 400 @ 2.5 microns & 1800 @ .5 microns; just in case, I test the particle count on the exhaust regularly to verify the integrity of the bag
