The Eco Water softener in our home had not had the resin replaced since we moved in 4 years ago and we were unsure of how old it was. We'd noticed gradually diminishing performance, and worse, our water was staining light colored sinks and toilets with a black residue. Rather than paying them a hefty chunk of money to come out and fix it, I elected to go through the process myself. I'm glad we went this route, as it also solved the mystery of all the black stains. The Eco Water tank is a mixture of resin and activated carbon. The carbon was breaking down into the water and staining our toilets and sinks. Not only did we elect to not put new carbon back in the tank, but also added a little additional resin to take up the volume that the carbon previously occupied (consult expert guidance based on the size of your tank to determine the optimum amount of resin per volume). It's a messy job, but there's plenty of videos out there to help. Our softener has never worked so well, and all the staining is a thing of the past. The price for this on Amazon was cheaper than our local hardware stores wanted, and arrived much sooner than theirs would have. Very happy with the product and the purchase.

I used to renew the resin for my Kenmore Ultra soft water softener which already used for 12 years. However, after restoring the resin, the water did not feel so smooth. Is the more expensive resin better? my order is $226 after tax.

The water coming into our house from the community well is terrible. I test it regularly and when it gets to our house, it’s very high in hardness (500 parts per million). After the water passed through the water softener with the old filter media, the hardness was cut almost in half but was still high. I wasn’t sure if replacing the filter media would make much of a difference with such bad water. I can now say from my first hand experience that replacing the media made a tremendous difference. The water hardness is now less than what I measure in bottled water. The total hardness is now at 25 ppm.

The water softener resin was as advertised. Like everyone else I recommend the funnel for filling the softener. Check to see how full to fill the resin tank as I found I had more resin then I needed and had to remove some since I filled it too full. My softener is working great with the new resin.

I replaced my 20 plus years old media with this, then my friends. Water is metallic smell free, and iron is none existent. The price the Well company wanted was double of this proven product. If you’re unsure about how to do it, just watch a YouTube video and safe the labor overcharge. It’s far from difficult. Don’t forget to buy the funnel.

I replaced the resin in my softener with this resin. Pretty easy process that saved my several thousands of dollars over buying a new system.

This saved me from buying a new water softner. I bypassed the valve, disconnected, removed the head, drained with a hose and drill pump, emptied the old resin into contractor trash bags, rinsed the tank well, and and refilled with the Purolite. Don't forget to buy a funnel!

The 1 cut turned out great for our home, which is setup for 4 adults. The process was simple and I even retrieved my gravel for the base. Took 36 hours of use to get he full result, but per the wife, the "soft" water is back! Great product as it does what it claims!
