I am installing these for a trap door to my crawl space and love the lift action. They will be perfect. Seem well made and should have no issue with the door weight.

Ordered them back in November but only had time to install them last weekend and as soon as I tried lifting the door after proper installation the whole thing bent and springs popped out, of course, Amazon won't exchange them due to the time passed since purchase but I can't help to notice most items on Amazon are now really crappy, they won't require sellers to list their customer service information but are very strict on return policy.

zero instructions or guide for where to place them for a proper fit. LOTS of trial and error required to get the lids square. Each hinge was inconsistent in shape and some were more off-center than the others which meant you can't just take one measurement and use it for all.The spring is also quite loud. if i smack the lid the springs "CLANG". not the best sound in the world, but for my application I didn't really care.BUT - that being said, for the price, they worked. with a little bit of extra time they can also look great too.

When I bought these I thought they would be able to support a piece of three-quarter inch ply for the top of my home made chest. It only weighed about 10 pounds but the stock springs could not keep it up on its own. I ended up going to Lowes and purchasing some tighter springs to replace the stock black springs. You can see the heavier duty silver ones in my photo. Just a little inconvenient but it works as expected after replacing the springs! Also, they don't ship with instructions or screws, so you kinda just have to figure it out, but it wasn't really that difficult.

I liked these hinges. I had a second hand toy chest with the broken lid. The hinges fixed it. It took me two hours to install - I never installed anything like that before. What I concluded is that the lid should be fully lifted by a hinge. When lid is open if you look from the side, top and bottom parts of the hinge form a triangle for a proper install. You will need sharp screws with flat heads - sorry not a carpenter, don’t know the lingo.

This is a very basic hinge, it comes with no screws nor any description of the installation. I returned the item and do not recommend it.

I was hesitant to order these based on the low number of reviews however, these hinges have surpassed my expectations. I will probably purchase more of these in the future for other projects.Installed these as hinges for hidden storage in my workbench. The set of two hinges open and close a 3/4 inch thick particle board that measures 15 inches wide and 5.5 feet inches long without any problem. As with any long use case, you will want to lift from the center of the board.They do take some practice to install correctly but once you figure that out they are great.Great product at a great price!
