Loop D30 vs K35

D30 Cord Loop for Small Clutch

Select: 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 5ft, 6ft loop

Continuous Cord Loop is commonly used on Cellular, Honeycomb, Pleated, Silhouette, Roman, Woven Wood and Zebra Shades. The cord loops will fit most brands including Hunter Douglas Duette, Applause, Rollease, Alta, Levolor, Kirsch, Rollease, Graber Crystal Pleat, Bali, Kirsch, Graber, Comfortex, Turnils, Budget Blinds, 3DaysBlind, Kathy Ireland, Smith & Noble, The Shade Store… etc. Made from the highest quality polyester blend made in the USA.

  • D30 (2.7mm) is thinner than K35. Very popular loop. Use on smaller clutches and lighter shades.
  • K35 (3.4mm) is a little thicker than D30, commonly used on Hunter Douglas silhouette (made after 2010), vignette, pirourette, Rollease Clutch. Use on larger shades and clutches.
  • C30 cord loop is the thickest loop among these 3. C30 loop is discontinued and replaced with K35 loop.

If you don’t know what size/thickness is your cord, then use this general guide:

· If the clutch is small and shade is small and light, then get D30 loop.

· If the clutch is large and shade is large and heavy, then use K35 loop. K35 is thicker. Therefore it grabs the gears of the clutch tighter and has higher tensile strength=lift more weight.

When your clutch is used and old, its gear is likely worn out, so having a thicker cord will make it grab and lift better. If your cord keeps skipping when you raise the shade, then you need the thicker cord K35. Below are pictures of clutches that use D30 loop and K35 loop. If you put K35 loop in small clutches, you can still operate the shades, it just feels “tigher” when pulling. However, it’s not the other way around, you cannot put D30 loop in large clutches, it won’t work properly and likely skip.
