This is my second attempt at counted cross stitch and this product made it SO much easier! The gridding takes some time but you absolutely make that time up in the actual cross stitch phase. Thanks to this tool I was able to choose a pattern, decide to customize what colors I was using, and get it done with minimal need to pull misplaced stitches. I plan on trying it on a blackwork Aida fabric next!

This has absolutely helped on many of my stitch projects so far. I don't use it exactly per instructions, but either way, pulling it out after a project is done is super easy. The bright color helps me differentiate the lines, and I've been able to keep and reuse the thread, without too many creases in the thread itself. The one knock is, I can't open the container itself, if I want to try and roll some thread back. Instructions advise not to open it either. Although not available on prime, still shipped relatively quickly.

Although this method is time consuming to start, it does make counting cross much easier. This was my first time using this product and this method. I’m pleased with both. Would recommend (if you are patient). Would buy again. Would be nice if this came in other colours such as white for working with black or darker Aida fabrics.

This is awesome! Easy to use and quick once I figured out to do 6 over, 4 under and not pull it through until I got to the end of the row. Even added it to a big project that was already started.

First, let me say that I absolutely love this product! It makes stitching on linen and even weave so much easier. I can’t imagine stitching on 28 count without it and would never tackle a full coverage pattern or park threads without it. Your stitches will never pierce it, and when you’re done, it easily pulls out again without ruining any of your stitching.A few tips:I found the instructions difficult to follow. My eyes or my insanity would never recover if I counted every 6 and 4 holes on 28 count fabric, per the instructions. But I discovered it’s not necessary at all. When I put the guideline in the first direction, I don’t worry about counting how often it goes under or over my fabric. When I do the opposite direction, I make sure that the intersection is visible. As you can see in the pictures, it’s very easy to see where each grid is, despite the fact I did no counting.Rather than using a cross stitch needle, you’ll want to use a sewing needle with a smaller head to get through the holes easier with the guideline. It’s slick, which it needs to be to pull out so easily, so it occasionally comes out of the needle, but it’s stiff so it threads again easily. I found it’s easiest to follow the rows in the fabric if I stitch the guideline moving right to left, rather than up and down. I like to use a running stitch, going under and over the fabric in a single motion.I like to use straight pins to count and mark 5 rows each. (It’s less likely I’ll count 5 rows wrong than 10 or 20.) When I’m stitching over 2 threads, I end up with 4 straight pins to mark my 20 rows. I mark each end of my that row this way, as well as the middle. This helps me catch any mistakes as I stitch that line, which is easy to do on 28 count fabric. Finally, I don’t knot the ends and cut my guideline at the end of each row, instead of looping it and going back the other direction, leaving enough at the ends to easily grip the guideline at the end to pull it out. This makes it easier to pull and move the threads if I made a mistake.I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have about my experience or advice. Happy stitching!

When I was about to begin my first project on black aida fabric, the idea of gridding my project ahead of time was suggested to me by a cross stitch website. This was the most recommended product across many of the sites I researched, so I decided to give it a try!I am OBSESSED with this product now! It truly has cut down on the time I've spent on each project I've used it on. Although it does take some time to do the initial gridding, it is incredibly satisfying to see the fabric with a completed grid. The thread is very easy to remove afterwards, and leaves no trace of ever having been there in the first place. Now ALL of my projects have been gridded using this thread! What a wonderful product!

I got this stuff to compliment my new scroll frames. I was sceptical at first but I absolutely adore it, it took a day to get it all set up but it was my first ever go and it was really easy, and I learnt a lot too (like, there is no need to grid areas of fabric you won't be stitching on). I love this stuff, it really has cut my stitching time down, and my stitches are way more accurate the first time around, as I can keep excellent track of where it all is. Counting is all done by the lines and cross country stitching - my preferred method - is so easy on a big project. I love it. It also makes my project look super professional, I've included a photo, this took me just over two weeks where it normally would have taken me a month. Thank god for easy-count.

Where was this 20 years ago? This guideline has been a game-changer for my stitching. Before, I've used red thread, but the problem with that is that when you pull the thread out at the end, it leaves little fibers. With this Easy-Count Guideline, that doesn't happen. Another bonus - this guideline is reusable. How to use this: Find the center of the fabric, as you would when beginning any other cross-stitch project. Locate where you want the first grid guideline to go on the fabric in relation to the center. Stitch a length of this line between two threads of your cross stitch fabric. Count 10 stitches over, and stitch between those threads over and over until you've created parallel lines along the whole length of your fabric. Rotate the fabric 90 degrees, and repeat this process until you've created a grid of 10x10 stitches for easier pattern reference.LOVE THIS.

Absolutely brilliant gridline! No need to knot at the ends (too difficult otherwise, as I discovered, but stays without knots). Pulls out easily when project finished. Be careful not to kink when gridding - it makes gridding harder. Follow the instructions advice of 6 over & 3 under - so much easier. I have a mini ruler set at 10 spaces, so I check regularly than my gridding is 10 sqares across each time. I never gridded until last year - I don't know how I got away with not gridding before. It's so much easier - less counting required & easier to double check. Now that I grid, I can do more complicated cross-stich projects. Cotton grid lines just doesn't work (it breaks & gets caught). This thin red coloured thread is the easiest by far. But... don't open the reel - the line will immediately unravel & knot up (ie a frustrating accident by me). This is definitely worth it's value. I bought up in bulk from Amazon - it's hard to find where I live. Again, an excellent product I'll be continuing to use from now on.
