I purchased a set of 5.3 LS 862 heads from ADV here on Amazon, and upon installation, I found that in order to get proper lifter pre-load I had to install pushrods .050" (fifty thousandths!) shorter than stock length. This tells me these heads were excessively milled during re-manufacture. I tried to contact ADV when I first discovered this issue, both by phone, and by e-mail, and I was ignored, other than "Clarence" replying to my questions with a PDF FedEx call tag to return the cores... completely ignoring my issues and questions. A follow up email after that was also ignored. As were my phone messages. I pressed on and finished the install using aftermarket short pushrods (Comp-Cams, around $150). Less than 1500 miles and two months later, I discovered a coolant leak on the head, around the center head bolt, into the inside of the valve cover. Classic LS porous/cracked casting issue that should have been caught during the re-manufacturing inspection and pressure testing process. My email inquiry about warranty replacement remains unanswered today. In the mean time, I have called several times, and got the run-around about needing to talk to the "shop foreman" and promises that I will receive a call back, which has never happened.I am out hundreds of dollars in gaskets, head bolts, oil, filters, and coolant. I'm also out many hours of my valuable time and labor. I'll be needing to do the complete replacement of both heads all over again.I have contacted Amazon to start the refund process and will be expecting a full refund ASAP...
