Wasn’t sure buying this one, as it was my first djembe, but glad I did. The tones are excellent! Having an adjustable head was great to have. If you are a drummer, then you know about adjusting synthetic drum heads. This was easy. The synthetic body doesn’t have issues with moisture or cracking. The tones are much better than I was expecting. Very pleased!

This drum sounds good but when playing hard and tightening the head to the point I want it….little micro cracks surfaced around the bolts on the body. I’m not too stoked on it because I need a durable drum to play the high impact African and Latin style I’m into.

Sounded too "tiny" for my personal preference but unless you're willing to make a large price jump this is a decent djembe for the price.

Shipped from USA to New Zealand. Excellent packaging and arrived in perfect condition.It appears to be a drum that would be exceptionally durable and if caught out in adverse conditions such as rain or a dust storm you wouldn't have to worry about it getting damaged or losing its tone. I believe Remo make the best djembe outside West Africa. Having owned West African djembe I changed over to key-tuned Remo djembe due to the simplicity and reduced cost in changing skins. Rope-tuned djembe are easy enough to tune up but need someone who knows what they're doing to apply the skin. The Remo key-tuned djembe enable ease of use in this respect. I have a Remo Mondo key-tuned 14" djembe and that is a much more professional instrument than the Apex. The musicality is significant whereby the Mondo has a much deeper bass and nicer tones and slaps. The Apex plays well, but just feels 'cheaper'. The Apex does fall somewhat short of the quality sound that genuine African djembe or the Remo mondo djembe produce. Nevertheless, the Apex will get lots of use and I will not be concerned if it gets knocked around a bit as its winning points primarily come from its apparent durability and toughness.

Prodotto molto buono, sulla qualità della pelle non si discute, la Remo non la puoi criticare. Il fusto in ABS consente di portarlo in giro con tranquillità, da to il peso contenuto e la resistenza alla pioggia per esempio. Inoltre non richiede manutenzione. La cassa di risonanza di un Djembe in legno fatto bene produce un altro suono è chiaro, ma peserebbe minimo il doppio e con le intemperie si rovinerebbe la pelle di capra con cui solitamente è rivestito. Per cui, lo consiglio a chi come me, deve spesso portarlo in giro, mentre se dovete tenere un prodotto in una stanza o in uno studio, puntate su un prodotto in legno e avrete un sound più reale. Fornito di chiave per accordarlo. Bello esteticamente anche se molto semplice.
