This remote controlled outlet works great, easy to install, use and turn on / off from a distant. Bonus design on wall plug is that is has a light that turns on when it's on so easy to confirm it's on, and if you can't find the remote, it has a button to turn on / off directly from the wall plug. It comes with a battery for the remote. Best part is it's not InfraRed (IR), it is Radio Frequency (RF) allowing for use of the remote even when you don't have a direct line of sight to the plug making it easier to use and if outlet is behind a table or sofa, it will still work. Plan to use it to easily to turn on / off the Christmas tree since it's always a challenge to get to the outlet to unplug or to the power strip hidden in back so it's not visible. Lastly, based on design, though it's note for outdoor, I would not recommend since it does not have a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) built in which means if you accidentally wet it, it will most likely be damaged and hopefully, you outdoor outlet does have a GFCI. Also, the plastic will most likely break / crack / yellow over time when exposed to the elements and sun.

This is a very cool remote controlled standard 15A home wall receptacle. It's very easy to operate, simply plug it into a standard 120Vac 15A home wall outlet and then push the ON button on the remote control, and the outlet lights up red and is active. So you can turn electrical devices ON and OFF remotely within a 100 foot distance, or you can turn this outlet ON or OFF manually via a button at the bottom of its plastic housing. The only thing I don't like about it is that the remote requires a very small 12V #23A battery which is not like the standard very common AAA or AA battery. But I fully understand why, it would take 8 AAA batteries in series to get the necessary 12V in order to operate the remote, and 8 AAA batteries would make the remote physically much larger that it is. So a small 12V #23A battery works best, and I can live with that since I really like this product, it's very cool! Recommended.UPDATE 1/16/25The switch stopped turning on when either by the remote or by the button on the receptacle housing, and it's been less than 3 months. I even changed the battery in the remote and it still doesn't work, it's DEAD! I tried to contact the seller for a replacement but could not find any links, e-mail addresses, or any other method by which to contact the seller - didn't find any contact information. Well that's pretty sad, no one likes a product that doesn't work properly and if it malfunctions or otherwise stops working there should be some way to contact the seller. But nope, nothing. So I will simply throw this product into the trash. I do not recommend this product.
