These trim my dog’s nails cleanly and quickly. I prefer this guillotine style to the scissor style of clipper.

I have a smaller pair that has to be at least 30 years old.I needed a bigger pair and got these. The blade doesn’t quite fit as well as the first one, but it still quickly, safely, and painlessly lets me trim my dog’s claws.

My dog was not at all keen on having her nails clipped but these have made a huge difference.I can see with more accuracy the exact point I’m cutting each nail and she seems more relaxed. The blades are also replaceable which is a definite plus point. Delivery was earlier than expected .

It wasn't the improvement I hoped. Also it frankly didn't cut all that cleanly or well and I have a small dog.

The Original Resco clipper is what most vets use, so guess what you should use? The one that is proven to be quick, clean, and make sharp cuts. This unit does EXACTLY what it's intended to do. Having a trained dog helps too and knowing how to find the quick is probably the most important. Word of advice: If you have issues seeing the quick, use your phones flashlight under or around the nail and you will see where it ends. Even in the darkest nails. Good luck.

Nice and sharp. Just needs to come with a pack of Band-Aids for my personal use after all the clawing and struggling during trimming.

I think that this is the BEST item for the job. Shears the nail easily with no pulling.

I have had dogs for 20 years, my wife pretty much tells everyone that any dog I own has hit the canine lottery. I truly love my dogs, the problem has been trying to be confident about not hurting them when I cut their nails. It goes something like owner nervous, dog nervous, makes cutting nails even more difficult and truthfully leads to maybe one nail being cut before chaos ensues, thenTrip to vet pay $10/dog for clipping.Something finally clicked in me where I feel confident and felt like longer nails where more harmful than me possibles getting the quick a time or two. There was one other major change a sympathetic groomer advised getting the guillotine style trimmer and more specifically this one.The scissor clipper may work for some, and I owned arguably the best pair of those available, but requires an inexperienced trimmer to be more stressed. The dogs paw often moves forward and back slightly. The scissor type requires far more experience. The guillotine stile on the other hand is passed over the nail, the interior of the clipper prevents a nail from going to deep, but it cuts out the needing to track the dog. One added thing is the squeeze of the handles is inline with all this movement. That may overt complicate the process, but I can tell you in practice this style made it possible for me to over come my phobia. Moreover after several weeks of tipping the nails, the dogs like it. And no more click, click, click when they travel across hardwoods or concrete. At the end it provides one more opportunity for the dogs to receive love and praise, one less trip to the vet, and oh yeah money in the pocket. When I start clipping my other dog instantly wants their nails clipped. So I have to do it when someone can distract the other dog or first thing in the morning when they are in their kennels.Good luck, and I promise if I can cut my dogs nails - anyone can. Btw, if you are really having trouble for getting a feel for it, the groomer told me to practice on chopsticks.

They are easy to use. They also work great. I cut my cats nails when she is asleep and she doesn’t know that I am doing it.

Update 1/9/17 - Resco offered to replaced the damaged clippers. The new ones work well. I tried them on both the cat and dog, and they are sharp, no nail crushing. I would buy them again.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Review - These are the WORST nail clippers EVER! I ordered this product awhile ago for my small dog. My husband said the clippers did not work on the dog because they were not strong enough to cut through his nails. Today I tried them on my cat. The clippers just crushed his nails and made them split and ragged. They seemed extremely dull. When they arrived, the paint was a bit scratched so maybe they were used before. I just threw them in the trash!
