As an original owner of a launch Japanese Saturn this controller really surprised me. It's almost identical to the original and the added bonus of analog sticks puts it over the top. So far the batter has been good and the dpad is still working fine. Highly recommended, especially for those who love Saturn 2D fighters.

So my girlfriend found a different version of these without the twin sticks at the bottom and we are still waiting for that to arrive it seems to be in a perpetual heck of shipment woes, while browsing retro bits website I found this version of them and ordered them here on amazon, and it actually showed up next day, charged it up and updated it per instructions and it is great! Ordered the second one and it arrived today and also functions great build feels nice battery life seems good, the buttons Feel great and seem to have a slightly quicker or as quick response time as the original controllers that ive had since i was a kid, although it should be noted I'm using these with my sega saturn so I cannot comment yet on how it does with the included USB dongle for other systems and that brings me to the twin sticks as only a few titles to my knowledge actually work properly with them I don't think they perform as good as they could since they default to d pad level performance now there is a twin stick mode for the game virtual on I have yet to try but when I do I will update my review here.

I bought this controller because I wanted something that would work well with all the consoles I emulate on PC. For these purposes, it's a good controller, but I do question how long it's going to last. Gamepad Tester reveals that despite how jiggly the buttons are, they're very responsive, though the analog sticks are very, very slightly off-zero. Despite feeling like a much cheaper controller, it's more ergonomic than the Hyperkin Duke I've been using, and it plays old school Street Fighter well. I wish they made more controllers with six face buttons and two analog sticks, because I finally found what I'm looking for in this controller and the build quality is so bad that I don't feel I can trust it.

If I had trusted the negative reviews I wouldn't have ordered this. I'm glad I chose to ignore them. I bought this with the sole intention of using it on a SEGA SATURN. It's perfect. It feels great in the hand and honestly feels of similar or slightly better quality than the original Sega Saturn controller. I have used this to play Vampire Savior, DoDonPachi, and tons of other games. I have not experienced any missed inputs or inaccurate inputs from the directional pad or joystick. Maybe the people that are having issues with theirs are because they are playing on a PC and might need to recalibrate the controller. I don't know, I'm only using this on a Sega Saturn.I'm extremely happy with my purchase and absolutely love the convenience of a wireless Sega Saturn controller. Highly recommend!

The only quality this controller has is the box it comes in. The shell is a very cheap plastic that feels slippery in the hands. The Dpad of the original saturn controller is naturally a bit mushy with a slight tactile feel, but this controller has no tactile feel whatsoever to any of its buttons or dpad. The one benefit to the controller is the fact its wireless. Another strange thing to note is the wireless dongle being black no matter what color controller you've purchased. For someone who may have wanted to buy a controller to match the color of their console, you'll be dissapointed choosing the white variation. I cant imagine it being too difficult to recolor the dongle shell, leading me to believe that these controllers are a cheap and underdeveloped design. Overall, I cannot recommend it whatsoever and I would suggest you buy a wireless kit for the original saturn controller instead or use a wireless genesis controller from 8bitdo and saturn dongle.

No lag. I use mostly use this Saturn pro controller to play my old genesis / mega drive / 32x / Sega CD / Saturn games / and 6 face button Fighting games on Xbox via Retroarch in Devmode, or retail mode for games like Street Fighter 30th anniversary. You need the Brookes wingman xb2 adapter to do this though and switch the controller to X-input mode. There’s instructions that tell you how to switch modes. The L and R buttons are permanently bound to the C and Z face buttons. It hasn’t impacted my Saturn gaming because I just use the L2 and R2 triggers. But it would be tricky to play N64 with it. I read Retro-Bit is working on a firmware update to address this. The ideal L and R mapping would like the Hori Commander Octa Fight Pad where they map L to the left thumb stick click (L3) and map R to Left Bumper (L1). This would leave the remaining 2 C and Z face buttons to be mapped as RB and RT so that the 6 buttons can function independently from all the triggers providing proper access to the yellow C buttons for N64. But other than the awkward choice to permanently bind L and R to C and Z , the controller is fantastic. Love the Classic Japanese white and pink color way.

I'm so excited to unbox this when it arrived. Everything is good and time to relive the days in the 90s. Thanks for this remake of this great controller!
