My youngest niece is now a young professional living in the downtown area and she's hung on to her cute little Mini Cooper for a long time - ever since college - and she says she'll be keeping it for a while since her trips are all urban and it's so easy to find parking and get in and out of traffic with this zippy little car. But she said lately it had lost its zip and just didn't accelerate as before. I knew it had a lot of miles on it, and I thought it might be the VVT Phasers that advance the cams during acceleration and at higher revs - those things get clogged with old oil and internal engine debris over time and they lock into a "neutral" position which causes loss of acceleration. Well, it turned out I was right. After the talented folks at my shop replaced the timing chain and phasers (plus the guides, tensioner, etc.) we took the little beastie out for a spin. Whee! She flies like the wind blows. Fun little car! And now more fun again with this kit installed and the VVT working properly. Totally happy with this nice little kit. And it was easy enough to do it myself - I just sort of delegated the job, LOL. But on this engine it's simple to do - not that much involved. Oh, and it's a well-made kit - so my niece and I both recommend it.
