This is a very well-made hat, sturdy and with a great shape. It is a nice size and is a gorgeous purple color. It is comfortable to wear and a great value. It was perfect for a Mardi Gras party and received many compliments. It fit my husband well, however he typically wears a large size. Therefore, it is probably not a good choice for someone who wears a small size hat.

Bought this item (purple top hat) 4 years ago and it STILL looks good! Wore it at least 10x times since I’ve bought it for different occasions. No just Halloween.

Unfortunately, this hat is way below expectations. I don’t enjoy giving negative feedback, but it’s simply false advertising. The hat pictured in the listing is NOT what you’ll receive. My hat didn’t even have any manufacturer packaging, it was just a flimsy felt hat in a poly mailer with a paper from the company. It’s way overpriced for what it is, and honestly the cheap hats you can get at the Halloween stores are better quality, which is sad. I hope the company makes it right and refunds me fully, but it seems like they want to keep shipping costs, despite shipping being free with prime. I’ll update the review if they have good customer service, however I’m not holding my breath.

I couldn't get the expensive version of this hat from another vendor, as it was and still is out of stock in purple. I found this hat at a great price, and it looked very similar to the "Penguin" hat from the 1960s TV show, until the person playing the Penguin wore it to the Halloween Costume Contest. I buy most of the costumes every year, and hand them out, and this hat was a big disappointment, and not the one in the photo the seller shows, and it definitely takes away from the look of the Penguin character. Too bad. Please show the picture of the item being sold, not a photo of a $90.00 top hat.

This hat was covered inside and out with a bright purple/lavendar felt. The felt was quite loosely woven and easily pulls and frays The edging and ribbon were not as pictured in the photo, but the edging was the same loose felt and the ribbon a cheaper nylon ribbon, not the grosgrain that appeared in the picture. There is no brim lining, nor anything to adjust sizing. It’s ok for the price, but I only purchased because the quality in the purple hat picture seemed better.
