These fittings and the associated hose are perfect for a high performance safety critical fuel system. Easy to assemble and look great on our 440 Chrysler Marine engines. Better pricing at Amazon than the big online automotive performance stores. The conglomerated auto parts stores carry 10 kinds of tire shine treatment and similar items, but stopped carrying items for performance like these Russell components a long time ago.

If you're working on replacing the fittings, hoses, and hose clamps in your engine bay, you're probably considering aeronautical-grade components. Bear in mind, the AN system is a solid choice for those applications, but extremely expensive.You'll want an appropriately-sized flare wrench, or an AN-specific wrench to work with these fittings: normal wrenches won't apply enough torque evenly enough to avoid scratching (and eventually marring) the aluminum surface. Because they're so expensive, be sure to do a good job with each one: take your time and follow the guidelines. The gap between the satin aluminum and gloss black component of this end, when correctly installed, should be no more than 1/16", (roughly 1.5mm). You'll need some kind of lubricant on the inside of your hose to achieve this (saliva may be sufficient, but there are purpose-made lubricants for these applications).
