It has a couple small tweakable things about it that another one I bought at the same time didnt have, but it is not as sturdily built either. I used this one in under my sink. It is plenty loud enough that I will know of any issues. It's easy to use. It tested very well with water. It's small size and long lasting battery life made it nice and easy to use with little stress needed for a while.

We had a water alarm sensor under our sink but after our faucet developed a leak we found out the hard way that our other sensors were not going to fit in the spot in which water would pool/collect in this instance. So we hunted for a corded alarm like this to be able to route the sensor exactly to where the water would collect. After testing the device, I had to tape over the speaker because it was just too loud. With a couple layers of tape and it set to low volume, it is still loud enough to hear from any room while the cabinet doors are shut. While we still prefer the design of our other sensor pucks https://amzn.to/4gDlkWr these certainly perform as necessary. If you are in need of detecting water in a very particular spot, this would be a solid option for you.

Detects water! A good piece of mind to have. I wish these would connect via wifi on an app so I wouldn't have to be home to hear the alarm go off. Good for now, but I might upgrade to a different system.

Works well, only problem is I forgot where the on/off switch was in the heat of the moment so it got wrecked. Does not shut off right away if you remove it from water. Good stuff

Purchased this to use on our hot water heater in the the event of a leak. Highly recommend and it works as described. This provides peace of mind knowing that in the event of a leak, you will be alerted!Easy setup:Install 2 AAA batteries (not included). Mount device using the included double sided sticky tape. Position the attached sensor cord so that the 2 nodes at end of cord are flush/touching the ground. You may want to use a bit of tape to keep them in place in the event they were accidentally bumped/disturbed. Turn on device via button located on side of device. Done!Alarm sound:Has two volume levels to select from (crazy loud and really loud... Lol). You will definitely hear it! The alarm sound has a varying pitched tone (VS a single steady pitched tone). When water touches the nodes, the alarm goes off. Once the alarm goes off, it will continue to run until you manually shut it off.Battery test:You have to manually check the device on occasion to ensure the batteries are still good. Press the test button located on front of device: If the green light comes on: batteries are good. If the green light does not come on: batteries need replacing.A few tips to consider since there are lots of different kinds/variations of this type of device:1. Before purchasing, verify where you will place the device factoring in that it only has a 6 inch cord. Ideally, you want the device to be easily accessible in event alarm goes off or for battery testing/changing batteries. I'd recommend this device for easy to access areas where the device will be within easy reach, but not a good choice for hard to reach areas due to short cord length.2. Decide if you want a basic version like this one (it just sounds alarm and you have to be at home to hear it) or other brands that offer wifi capable (will also alert you via phone when you are not at home).3. Many of these types of devices run on 9v battery or AAA. I preferred one one that ran on AAA batteries since I always have those on hand... VS 9v batteries which I never use and would have to buy just for this device.

We are using this as an alarm for our sump pump. I know you can get one that connect with wi-fi, but we don't have that right now. This is loud with the sump pump being in the basement. We have had some bouts with heavy rain, so this is great if we happen to be in the house of course.

I had an earlier version of this alarm and the battery connections eventually corroded off. When I replace this one I expected it to be pretty much the same as before. However the alarm on this one is probably four to five times louder. This is just what I wanted because this is in my basement with the sensor hanging down slightly into my sump pump pit. If ever this alarm goes off it means that my sump pump has allowed water to go well above its usual pump out level. Battery life remains to be seen

I'm about to write a review I wouldn't believe if I were reading it but I am not an influencer or in any other way connected to this product, just a very grateful homeowner. Something told me (a Clark Howard article, to be specific) it would be smart to get a moisture alarm for while we were traveling. Before the article, I didn't even know a moisture alarm existed, but when I read about it, it made sense. I ordered two (one for the laundry as well), they shipped in a day, and my husband installed it the day before we left, saying installation was "a piece of cake". We showed the Housesitter where it was, how it worked, and assured her with great conviction that would be the last she'd need to know or think about it, because we'd never had any problem with the water heater. We did warn her that the Amazon comments warned of it being VERY loud, but that's what we wanted bc our water heater is in the basement behind two closed doors. THE VERY FIRST NIGHT we were away the thing went off! Our sitter phoned us and said the alarm was going off and we shook our heads in despair thinking it was for sure a false alarm. But she said, no, there's water leaking! We called our plumber who advised us/her how to flip the fuse switch to turn it off for the night and they came out and replaced the water heater the next day. Our basement is finished and there is no floor drain for water heater failure. This moisture alarm saved us! Seriously, we could not be more grateful.

I've tried a few water leak alarms and this one is by far the best bang for the buck. First off, it's so loud. It makes smoke detectors sound like they don't even care. The tethered probe is short but still very handy to have compared to the models with the prongs on the bottom of the housing.I've installed this a couple weeks ago and it's already saved me. My sump pump failed due to freezing and the pit was filling up. I have the alarm on the sump pit cover and the probe hanging into the pit. I was able to catch this and replace the pump before any water ended up on my floor. Also, this only uses 2 AAA batteries compared to the standard 9 volt which is nice.
