I bought this post with their mailbox (same 4800 series model #4850BLK) .Holes do not match at all. Had to go through the pain of marking and drilling holes in the thick metal plate to match the mailbox. Drilling holes using just homeowner hand drill without proper tools to center the bit on spot resulted in slightly misaligned holes. Had to make a hole larger to make it fit. What a pain after paying so much for post + box.

Seems very sturdy and works well with the Salsbury 4850BLK mailbox. The post looks visibly imposing and radiates sturdiness, so if you're after an elegant-looking mailbox you may want to look for something else.

I am mixed. It is quite nicely built and constructed; except it comes with four 5/16 diameter bolts to attach mailbox to pedestal using tapped blind holes in pedestal through locked section of mailbox. Nice design, BUT 5/16 bolts do't fit the tapped holes. The bolts are 5/16, the holes dont fit included 5/16 bolts, and tapped holes are too big for 1/4 20 bolts. My guess is mine was erroneously tapped for weird bolts or M7 or M8. There are plenty of holes which are not blind and in many ways, not as secure, but you can go to hardware store and buy four 3/8 by 1 inch bolts, with washers, lock washer and nuts and mount mailbox to pedestal.Probably poor quality control, but other aspects OK. Disappointing to see something so easy screwed upI sent an email to "engineering" email address on instructions; "engineering "forwarded to "customer service", but no response in a week.

Great product, light weight but strong. I bought their mailbox to go with this, great combo compared to the cheap stuff out there.
