Beware, it is NOT 2" x 11"... it is 2 3/4" x 11 1/2".. aside from the size not stated correctly, it is well made.

Who knew. For 13 years I had this crude exposed wood. Now I got the matching Schlage Satin nickel face and back plates, and this. Looks professional, clean and mail slides right in.

This was purchased for a door recovered from a 1900's home for my 1910 home. Could not be happier - with a little adjustment to the original opening, the mail slot fits perfectly, has held up very well in the Gulf Coast weather and continues to look great.

Length and height were correct size for mail slot but it was just slightly too wide. The metal is also very thin and tends to bow out. Was able to get it to fit OK but it is a tad flimsy so you may need to bend it and play with it a bit in order to get it to fit properly.

I was able to work around it but the edges were sharp and I managed to cut my finger during the installation. One of the spot weldings came undone but I saved the installation by drilling a small hole and using a nail to secure the sleeve together.

It's basically just form sheet metal and it rusts within a month of installation.

does not measure 2 in by 11 in - it is basically a 2.5 in by 11.5 in sleeve (slightly smaller on each dimension, but only by maybe a 1/16th of an inch. Amazon had two sleeves listed. It appeared to me that one was larger than the other, as one was listed as 2-5/8 x 11-3/8 and this one as 2x11. I ordered the larger one first, and it was too big. I then ordered this one, hoping it would fit the opening - both sleeves appear to be identical in measurement. Not sure if they are both 2-5/8 x 11-3/8, but they are very close to this size.

Fits great. Matches silver color door slot hardware perfectly. Bought it to make a door slot in a foam core door look better than just seeing yellow foam.
