The Woody SC is a passive, magnetic soundhole pickup that delivers a bright, clear acoustic tone that is great for both energetic strumming, and delicate fingerstyle playing. The fact that it is a single coil means that you get more chime, and top end brilliance. All of the Woodys are available in our custom maple, walnut or black stained housing, and are double potted to keep them resistant to feedback. It mounts instantly into your soundhole, with no modification of any kind needed to the guitar and can easily be removed at a moments notice. It comes with a 14-foot low capacitance, studio quality cable that will plug directly into your favorite amp, PA, direct box, or console. Fits all standard soundholes (3.75 (94mm) to 4.0 (100mm). Great for all standard types of steel string acoustic guitars. NOTE this is a magnetic pickup, and will not work with nylon stringed instruments.Available Colors Maple, Walnut, or Black.

Pretty disappointed in this pickup and will be returning. Perhaps this pickup requires a pre-amp, but if that's the case, Seymour Duncan needs to make that explicitly clear in the product info on the amazon order page.I plugged this pickup directly into my Line 6 amp. To hear anything at all, I needed to turn the master volume up 3/4ths of the way, which is insanely high on the Line 6. Even at that volume, the cracking and buzzing STILL manages to be louder than the guitar itself.I bought a similar Dean Markley pickup over a decade ago and played it straight through a crappy old 80 watt Peavey, and it sounded great. This pickup, in contrast, is an unmitigated travesty.... my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

The tuner is not any good. While tuning, the A string broke (new strings). It did not pick up the correct tune of the A string. Pickup is good

Sounds great through a small amp. It even works with a wireless guitar xmit. and receiver.

This fit perfectly and was extremely easy to install. The tone sounds much more natural vs. an Under the Saddle pickup. I found a slight volume drop, but the tone sounded a lot better and clearer to me; so it was worth the sacrifice. I highly recommend this pickup if you're looking for a more natural sound. I recommend Seymour Duncan products.

There is no volume control bit that is fine. Sound quality is great (I'm an advanced beginner guitar player). A little tight to fit into the sound hole (Seagull and Martin dreadnoughts), but once in it fits great. Would buy again.

Great pickup for the price. Easy way to amplify your guitar for live or studio environment. Does exactly what it needs to do.

Easy to install, good sounding way to amplify an acoustic guitar. While I didn't compare this pickup to more expensive units, I was impressed with the sound for the cost. Compared to piezoelectric pickups, the guitar maintained its acoustic qualities. Despite the cable, it did not get in the way of playing, which was one of my concerns. I highly recommend it. One suggestion: put a mini jack on the pickup so the cable can be removed or replaced if necessary.

Sound gain and quality is far from what I expected. When plugged, I had to pump my Marshall all the way past the 5/10 volume mark to actually HEAR something coming from it, and of course, it was a bitt fuzzy and noisy because of this. Would return if it wasn't that I'm from a foreign country... planning on selling it. Not completely unusable for recording/live, but not far either.
