I bought these to use with Sgt. Knots 1/4" shock cord. Well, it doesn't fit. No sizes were specified in the description at the time of writing, but it did come up as a recommendation. These turn out to be ITW Fixlock Cord lock #194, which is specified to fit up to 5/32". You won't find any of that information on Sgt. Knots page. I need the #197 product, which is indeed specified for 1/4" cords.

I make dog collars, and this is one of the products needed! I am extremely satisfied with this product. I have used different brands in the past, but SGT KNOTS are by far the best

I use these to keep my sweatpants up. No more knots, no more saggy pants, no noise in the washer or dryer, none broken so far, working for a few months now.

They come disassembled and the plastic was so hard I injured myself and broke the lock while trying to assemble one.Since I broke one, I can’t get a refund so the whole bag went straight into the trash.

While these are not easy to assemble and darn near impossible to disassemble, they really grip securely. Follow the instructions carefully and run your laces through FIRST before inserting the white plastic "gear." I found it near impossible to remove the gear once it was inserted. But it is worth it to be able to synch my laces securely. Read the instructions carefully and think about how you want to use it and what you want to tie together.

Greater reliability and easier servicing in the field because they work with:• elastic and non-elastic cord• sheathed and unsheathed cord• a range of cord diameters• only two parts, only one moving part, and no spring• and the single moving part can be replaced without disassembly, sewing, or tools.Safer and easier use in difficult conditions because adjustments can be made while:• keeping your eyes on what you’re doing instead of looking at the cord tightener• wearing mittens and gloves• cold, numb, or injured hands can more easily pull or slide this fastener than depress the tiny button used on spring-loaded options• total darkness, restricted range of motion, blocked vision, or buried gear doesn’t interfere with operationIf one small change was made, then a single hand could be used for both tightening and loosening. The current design allows one-haded loosening (i.e., pull and hold the white wheel at the wide end of the black holder while sliding on the cord away from its origin), but tightening usually requires two hands (i.e., one to hold the cord lock in place while the other hand pulls out more cord). The need to use both hands for tightening is a problem when pursuing sports that require continuous focus and both hands on a pole, control, or handlebar. If a slot was added to the end opposite the pull loop, then one hand could be used for both loosening and tightening. The slot would allow a short length of webbing to connect the cord lock to the article of clothing or gear. The webbing would hold the cord lock in place thereby allowing one-handed tightening by simply a pulling on the cord loop. Loosening would be done differently, but remain one-handed. While holding the white wheel near the wide end of the black container with your thumb, you’d use your fingers to pull cord through narrow end of the black container. This method is used on some spring-loaded cord locks.

I don't know what I did before these. They are easy to set up and simply do not slip. I have used five already.Perhaps the only qualification I have is that they are a little large; perhaps they need to be, design-wise.

These are easy to install and use but for my purpose of hanging a cedar birdfeeder l oaded with seed they started to slip so for something lighter they would probably be fine

These things don't work with paracord, the cord is too thick to thread in or allow it to slip within the housing in order to adjust the tension on the cord.
