This product is a countertop ice shaver that can turn ice cubes into a snow-like consistency. It contains two pieces that remain separate, and also includes two small cups for serving and catching the ice. These cups can be used to freeze a perfectly sized puck of ice or to collect the shaved ice at the bottom.This item is very loud and shakes a lot as it works. It shakes even more if you use regular ice cubes, but if you melt a block of ice with their included container, it does not shave it as well. It will get about a third of the ice broken down and then stop working.Due to the small quantities made and the loud sound it produces, I have not used it much beyond initial testing. I was very excited to have a source of slurpee like ice to add flavorings to, but this will only make a few spoonfuls with a few cups of ice.Overall this will be fine for small servings for a young child, but as far as making a few mixed drinks or slushies, it is not appropriate for that. It's incredibly loud and I worry about how much it shakes, especially with the high torque motor and sharp blades inside.
