Many negative reviews but I took a chance. Real Ashley Furniture bench. Packaged very well. Sturdy. Bought to fit two adults 6’ plus. Very happy with purchase.

I read all the reviews before ordering. I was worried about putting it together and if it would be scratched or damaged. I am delighted to say it is beautiful and so easy to assemble. Very, very sturdy. I ordered a set of the two matching chairs. Again, no damage and easy to assemble. I needed small scale dining chairs for my antique drop leaf table. My dining area is updated and I have plenty of seating. This is an exceptional value! So very pleased.

This is a beautiful bench. I got the table as well. They match perfectly. The packaging is great and protects all the pieces. Just put the legs on. The bench seat is a dark walnut and legs a creamy beige. I would say if you’re over 150 pounds sit in the middle. It compliments my dining room so well.

For some reason the 2 top parts that were supposed to be attached together were not. The screws were loose - since I did not have the proper tools to drill and tight everything. I had to glue the parts together. Then I realized the top part was a bit bent. So this product is not perfect. I would not recommend, but overall it looks fairly good.

Love this little bench! Bought it with the chairs and table to update our dining furniture and it looks great with the set for casual dining. No wobbling, easy to assemble - but the silica gel bag busted open in the box so the beads were everywhere! Annoying to clean up, but it was worth it. If I had a foyer, I'd buy another one to put there because it's make a great entry way piece as well. My husband and I both sit on it together and it feels very sturdy.

Update:We have two little kids and the wood is very easily marked up. They have not scratched through the stain yet but there are lots of marks all over the table and bench already because the wood is so soft.We purchased this bench along with two matching chairs and the kitchen table. Everything came nicely wrapped and without damage. The bench is surprisingly nice for the price point. It couldn't have been easier to put together. It comes with the allen wrench needed to attach each leg.The only downside was unwrapping this thing. It came with a bunch of broken styrofoam which made a huge mess. Also, there were some dacron-like straps stapled to the bottom of the bench. I think they were there to secure the legs during shipping perhaps, but the box with the legs was loose when we got it. Had to get the pliers out to pull the staples out. Same thing with the matching table we purchased.

Ok, this is a review for the set as a whole. For the price, this is an extremely nice and sturdy bench and if you can get it defect free it could easily pass for something thats way more expensive. The bench is easy to construct, does not wobble, has an awesome looking finish, and feels very sturdy.However, Ashley Furniture is a terrible brand with horrible Quality Control and customer service.Despite whatever you read, this bench does not have a warranty. For internet purchases Ashley leaves the warranty up to the resellers. They will not so much as send you a new table leg even if you just purchased it and the original leg was warped. Everything must go through the reseller (who may or may not exist when you need warranty support). You can pay for replacement parts from Ashley. However, even paying for replacement parts isn't without risk...To give you an idea of how bad Ashley's quality control is, of the two sets of chairs I bought for this particular set:1: The first set of chairs I got had warped screw holes and needed to be exchanged (see picture)2: One set had a slightly darker stain than the other set (see picture).3: The wood wasn't consistently routed between the chairs for the leg grooves (see comparison).4: The actual routing style on the bottom of the front legs was different between two sets, one was chamfered, one was round and smooth. (see picture)5: One set of chairs had the underside of them finished, while the other set didn't (picture).6: Sometimes the bottoms of the legs on the chairs were painted, sometimes they weren't (see picture).None of these things are deal breakers, but as a manufacturing engineer I can't help but be impressed by just how bad their QC is. I feel like to get to this level almost has to be intentional.However, looking past all that, the bench came in perfect condition and it took about 5 minutes to assemble. It actually took longer to throw away the packaging than it did to assemble the thing. Overall, i think the bench is actually a less risky purchase than the rest of the set.
