I picked this up to replace my worn 323 chuck as I no longer need a reversible setup but found that this head seals late / after the valve is depressed on my bikes (tried tubes from Kendra, Bell, Goodyear) which means I loose 15-25psi when trying to unhook the line. Disappointed, reinstalled my worn chuck with a new seal in it. Not sure if I got a bad one or what.

The hose barb is so small that it will just fall out of a hose with a 1/4" inner diameter. Might be more suitable for a 3/16" ID hose, but wrongly sold as "1/4 inch".

This is a terrific adapter to install on a bicycle pump to add a quick-disconnect fitting for schraeder valves.

I purchased the HIRO side locking chuck as an upgrade to my Lezyne alloy drive pump, where the old ABS1 chuck was no longer giving a consistent seal on the bike presta valve. I did not realize the HIRO chuck would not thread onto the existing collar on my Lezyne pump. I purchased this adapter, which has a barbed connection that easily fits onto the Lezyne pump hose, and then screwed the HIRO chuck onto the adapter. All took about 2 minutes to complete. The chuck and adapter work flawlessly. Its a tight seal on the hose, with no need for a hose clamp band, although you could use a zip tie if you want the added security. Functionally very pleased - 4 stars as $12 seemed a little pricey and/or it could have been included with the chuck.

Sturdy design. But difficult to unscrew from the tube without loosing the air you just pumped into it.

Product arrived on time, well packaged, and as described. Product provides very good mechanical connection with the Silca "Hiro" Side-Lever Presta Chuck. I could not find any other means to connect the Silca "Hiro" chuck to an air hose so I had no choice but to purchase this item. I'm giving it a four star rating because I feel that the price is a bit high for what you get. However, with no other options available to my knowledge, it is a good and necessary item to have if you intend to use the Silca "Hiro" Side-Lever Presta chuck.

this unit does just what is supposed to do. attaches hiro valve to a hose :)
