You receive two identical silicone hem rulers, both about 4x10 inches in size. There are small holes to use to mark at 0.5 inches, 1 inch, 1.5 inch, and 2 inches. You simply sandwich the ruler between the fabric folded where you want to hem and iron over it. It has two different edges, one for straight hems and one for curved hems, which makes it very convenient. Steam and heat do not warp it. Having two is convenient; both are the same size. The silicone can be wiped with a damp cloth to clean when necessary. I have a couple of other hot hem rulers, but neither has a curved edge and they do get a bit hot so you must be careful not to burn yourself- the silicone material eliminates that problem. I am pleased with the item.

As I'm short, I often have to hem my pants. This UPTTHOW Silicone Hot Hem Ruler Fabric Ironing Tool is a truly useful tool for this purpose. All I had to do, was flip the pants inside out, fold a cuff, and sandwich the ruler in-between the fold. Then, I align the edge of the pants with the proper hem marking on the ruler. The ruler is heat-resistant, so once the fabric edge is folded up to the right place, an iron with the proper heat setting can be run over the fabric edge and ruler. The ruler has markings for .5, 1, 1.5, and 2 inch hems. It also has 2 edges, one with square corners and one with rounded corners. These would give one a choice when hemming such things as blanket corners. Plus, there are holes and slits on the ruler to use as a template to make markings on the fabric, if so desired. The only reason I deducted one star from the rating, is because I wish one of the set of 2 rulers that I got was not as wide, so it could fit in more easily for hemming pants.
