I can hear it, it's a regular whistle

While a nice whistle to have to try training your pet, it does emit a audible sound that I can hear myself. It is quite compact so it could potentially be easy to lose but at least it has a ring on it you can attach it to a string to hang around your neck.

The craftsmanship of this whistle is very nice, but even though the frequency is adjustable, it creates a tone that I can hear pretty clearly, and I'm old. It's just a high pitched whistle, and it didn't really faze my dog at all. I remember when I was a kid, I had a brass version of this, it was much longer, and it created a tone that was so high I could barely hear it unless it was very quiet. This new design is very different. It was so inexpensive that it's not a loss, it's still a nice novelty item to have. I'm sure I could train my dog to respond to this with the use of treats as well, but it's just not supersonic. It's pretty loud and I bet it could pierce through other noises. I was kind of hoping I could use this to remind my dog to be quiet when she's barking at the neighbor's huge dog, especially late at night, and it will save me the trouble of yelling at her, which I'm sure is probably as annoying as her bark LOL. I appreciate being able to try this out, thanks.
