Product Description

Company Logo

Over 100 Years of Quality

SKS is a quality manufacturer in the bicycle industry, we have been keeping bikes rolling for over 100 years.

Our history began in 1921 when Karl Scheffer-Klute of Sundern, Germany began manufacturing curtain rods. His company was purchased in 1932 by Wilhelm Blome, who also purchased a tire inflator company, which inspired him to begin manufacturing metal pumps.

SKS is now known as a pump and bicycle fender manufacturer, along with accessories for your bike, including bike pumps, fenders, bags, tools, digital pressure gauges, bottle cages, cage adapters, and even phone holders.

SKS items are still designed and manufactured in Sundern, Germany. We will continue to innovate and manufacture the highest quality cycling accessories for years to come.

Production Line

The Future is Orange

SKS Germany employs 400 people at our bicycle HQ in Sundern, and over 700 employees across our three combined divisions.

43% of our bicycle business is through aftermarket product sales while 32% is OEM product.

Annually, SKS Germany produces:

- 4.5 million full fenders

- 2 million clip-on fenders

- 1.2 million bicycle pumps

This totals over 18,000 fenders per day and 3,200 pumps per day!

Bluemels Update

Revamping the classics

In 2022 the SKS full fender line was renewed. The classic Chromoplastic Longboard and Commuter II full fenders were replaced with the new Bluemels and Bluemels Style fenders.

Both models are made using the same chromoplastic fender material. But, the Bluemels now come with black hardware and are available in more sizes than before.

The Bluemels Style fenders feature a square profile design, double U Stay technology, a matte black finish, and come with a sleek, flexible spoiler on the front and rear fender.

SKS Germany continues to be a leader in clip-on fender options as well.

This is a great pump, especially if you are trying to avoid a Chinese product.

Made in Germany, algo raro hoy en día.

Excellent quality, so much better than my previous plastic pump; I almost over-pumped the first time, because between 110-120 psi, it didn't feel any different than 60 psi. No problems connecting to short presta valves. You will notice the quality as soon as you pick it up and feel the weight, especially if you owned a plastic floor pump before, like I did. It takes a lot less effort, and fills to pressure much faster than a cheaper pump. I have a feeling that I will never need to replace this one. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon and other sites, and Rennkompressor had good ratings across the board. It's a little pricier than other pumps on the site, but it's worth every penny. I highly recommend.

For $60, there has to be something better?I am completely confused how this pump was rated so well? As a seasoned cyclist and one adept with bike maintenance, here are my issues:-Base is metal making it seem sturdy, but the stabilizing legs are flimsy and work poorly. I'd rather have a solid plastic base if i means the pump stays put-You will bloody your knuckles trying to latch / unlatch the pump. The leveler is so extremely rigid until it's not. Then it's a test of your agility to get out of the way-The pump is inefficient. Simple as that. I've had hand pumps push more air into the tires than this pump.I will be returning this pump and making sure everyone within ear shot knows to look for something else. Maybe you get what you pay for?UPDATE on 1/23/17I finally got around to returning the pump last weekend. Since I have yet to order a new one, I inflated tires on a couple bikes to hold me over. It is impossible to overstate how terrible this pump is. I discovered a few more items that I hate about this:-People have mentioned that getting a good seal is tricky and it is. But then once you have a seal it is impossible to remove.-You will lose 50 psi of pressure trying to get a good seal. And then you will spend the rest of your day inflating the tire back to where it was before the air was let out by the pump. God forbid you have mountain bike tires. If you have fat tires, I don't think this pump can do it. Impossible. I'm pretty sure the pump only pushes air in the tires over the last inch of travel.Buy at your own risk. I was glad to finally get rid of this thing.

I generally like this pump. It's certainly very sturdy, and it's well-balanced when pumping. I also like that the feet fold up and that there are no sharp or rough edges, which makes it easier to just throw the pump into the car without worrying about what it might damage. The pump head on the pump I got was apparently defective and got worse over time. Eventually, I couldn't inflate any of my tires -- presta or shrader valve. I contacted SKS's customer service in the U.S. about this. They originally thought it was user error, but eventually volunteered to send me a new pump head. The pump works better now than it ever did before. I still think that the pump head design is kind of odd (it uses air pressure rather than mechanical force to open the valve), but I'm generally satisfied with the pump now that I have the new head in place.I'm tempted to give it 4 stars, but I'm giving it 3 due to the defective head and the time it took to resolve with SKS (although in the end I have to say that they were very helpful).

This is a real pump... This pump is not a throwaway pump so common today; most parts are replaceable. This pump can inflate to super high pressures. A couple of possible negatives are perhaps the small diameter guage (I use this as a rough guage to overinflate tires, then use a seperate hand held guage to bleed air down to desired psi). The feet are foldable which is a positive and negative; the positive is that they fold, the negative is that the pump is less stable than modern pumps because the legs want to fold some while pumping. The pump does not seem to pump the large volume of air as some of todays pumps can, not really a problem, just pump more strokes. This is one of those products that just WORKS, and is repairable. I'm tired of going through cheap pumps. This pump is made in Germany, old school style.

I recently purchased my first road bike and didn't realize my current pump wouldn't work with presta valves. After doing some research I decided to grab one of these. The pump arrived in 4 days and although some of the packaging was a little damaged the product itself was in great condition. The pump is easy at high psi's and does not require a ton of effort. The build feels very sturdy and I like the handle. So far I would definitely recommend it.

I've had my pump for about 9 months and so far I love it and I'm glad I spent the money on it. I was totally new to cycling when I got it and spent a lot of time researching pumps. It seems clear that people in the industry have their loyalties and favorites for their gear and accessories. And apparently this particular pump, in earlier models, used to be sturdier or something. But as far as I can tell, this pump is both sturdy and reliable. I trust the German engineering to be both effective and durable. The pressure gauge doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but my tires always get pumped up quickly and easily. And as many other reviewers have said, Rennkompressor seems to have outstanding customer service, so I would not hesitate to recommend this reliable and reasonably-priced pump to anyone else. I could not tell you, off the top of my head, any other brand of pump, and hopefully it stays that way!

I got this pump because I was tired of trying to get my tires up to high pressure with a hand pump. After reading recommendations, including one on the Sheldon Brown site, this looked like a good option.Solid metal construction means this thing is going to last for a while. With just 8-10 pumps I can get my tires up in the 100psi range. I haven't used it on Schrader valves, but on prestas it works great! Well, as long as the stems are long enough, because it actually forms a seal around the stem, rather than the threaded part of the Presta valve. Hasn't been an issue for me, because I have about 3/4" of stem sticking through my rims, which is enough. An awesome pump, solid German engineering at work, I believe.
