I looked up this part on the manufacturer's website and several other places to verify the correct model number of front shocks for a stock 1972 Ford F100 short-bed 4WD. The shocks showed up yesterday late and in a fit of estacy I unboxed them and put the boots on them and set them next to the TV to admire them until bedtime. This morning after watching about 3 hours of TV while drinking coffee and admiring the stickers and the red booted shocks I finally went out to squeeze in the bushings on a vise, which I did. Then I went got the truck jacked up and squirted liquid wrench on for the last time over the last three days. Time to take this thing apart like I did 25 years ago. The job was considerably easier than I remember, but I did not used to have an impact wrench. Picked up the bright new shock with the sticker and the red booty and WTF. It did not fit. The top bushing inner hole was much too small. Parts places around did not have the correct bushing except for one place that ordered me some to show up on Friday. But this is Wednesday and that caused me to take the new bushings that came with the shocks and drill them out with a hole saw. Anyway the first shock took 3 hours to put on and the second 15 minutes. Confirm correct bushings I guess is the point of this verbosity.Follow up a few days later of driving around. They feel pretty good. I like them. Of course my old ones were completely worn out, one with all the gas and some of the oil leaked out. Old monroe gas matics with no boot. But the top eye and bushing were correct.I noticed the price went down as soon as I got my new ones. Ha! Oh well!

I replaced the rancho 5000 shocks for these skyjacker 8000. Huge improvement took the death wobble out of my 2000 f250 superduty. Highly recommend. Now lets see how long they last before replacing

I installed these a while back on my 1990 Mitsubishi Montero LWB. They really stiffened up the ride, which is what I needed. They are not "racing" shocks or anything of that nature, but for daily driving and light-duty off-roading these are perfect. I have taken them in the mud and sand and they seem to be well worth the money spent. I'm not into rock crawling but i'm sure these would be decent in that scenario as well.I would buy again. Hopefully they will last at least 3-5 years. So far I'm very impressed with the performance/dollar.
