The ink looks great! I am also able to easily switch between the 2 colors, which I wasn't able to do with the old tape (due to how old it was). It types very smoothly, so I'm excited to be able to use my typewriter more! I did have to tape the tape off the roll and put it on the older one though. I believe that is because I have a 1950s typewriter, so even if I bought the right tape for my writers brand, it may be a bit outdated, so I may buy a different item so I don't have to go through that hassle, but overall, very good product.

Trust FKA ribbons!There are many typewriter ribbons out there, and most have dismal reviews of poor quality regardless of very low or ridiculously high prices.Then I found particularly positive reviews for FKA products. Research convinced me this veteran owned company could be trusted. I received my order in a few days and the ribbon is well inked and strong!It took me a bit of extra effort to remove the ribbon from the dispatched spools and roll it onto the original spools of an antique 80+ year old L.C. Smith & Corona typewriter. But other than a few minutes of time (while wearing latex gloves to keep the ink off my fingers), it works wonderfully!There’s something magical about typewriters, and this one is happy again!

First, the spools and ribbon don't make you think they will crack or tear as easily as the cheapest option, and the ribbon is well-inked with good separation between red and black, and also is wound to a good length instead of twice the number of short spools.The only weakness I can state is that the ink is either a bit thinner than optimum, or the ribbon is just very wet when new. The letters are bleeding a bit, and aren't as crisp and dark as you would like, although still alright. The red isn't as saturated as I would like although still definitely a solid red, and the black is not as pure black as I would like - almost hints of brown. I suspect they will get crisper once I've used it for more than a quick test, and it's okay if it's not as dark as possible as long as it becomes more even.Note: was using an electric coronet, so the impact I used was fairly consistent and strong, and that's why I would expect it's the ink.Note 2: Using more absorbent paper than modern printer paper is another option.

I’m not an expert on the subject but i do think that this typewriter ribbon is splendid! I was quite happy to see the sticker on the package with the message it had on it, the ribbon has the perfect amount of ink, it does not spoltch on the paper but it’s not faded either, it was too big for my typewriter but that’s because i failed to realize i had a limited “scm” typewriter, however i found a way to use the ribbon and i am loving it!! Also the people who made it contacted me asking if it was in order and this last part is to them; hi, thank you so much for continuing making great quality products, I’m sure it’s difficult as not many people use typewriters anymore so i am even more appreciative of y’all doing it, i hope y’all continue to make these quality products and are happy doing so. Bought this ribbon to rewind on a Smith Corona Corsair Deluxe, a vintage manual typewriter for which pre-wound spools are hard to find. Wearing gloves, I rewind the ribbon onto the old spools in about five minutes. A quick test using the old standby "The quick red fox jumped over the lazy brown dog" showed that the red and black portions of the ribbon worked very well. There are only two ways to install this ribbon, red up or black up, and it has been decades since I used a manual typewriter----so naturally I installed the ribbon upside down. Rather than thread it through again, I just left it as is and now have to remember that the red selector switch means "black" and vice versa. Deliver was fast, the item was well packaged, and I will buy this again if needed.

Many thanks, although the item was OKI needed to transfer the tape onto the old spools because the new spools were to big. But it did the job so I am happy.

This works amazingly with my Dad's ancient HERMES 3000 (it's a typewriter from the future). The colors are strong, vivid, and the reels are made of a good quality, as well as the ribbon.It is two colored (obviously) and the reds also pop out, though maybe just a hair "thin" in color. I would loved to have seen a deep Communist red, (love red, if you prefer) so I could send out letters to people with red type mixed with black type. My other qualm is that when doing standard typing, the ink does rub off ever so slightly on the page as you type. This could be an issue with the old typewriter or an issue with the ribbon being brand new, I'm not sure... but a bit of the reds/blacks do rub off onto the page when typing long letters. Again, it is very minor but I thought worth noting. I would definitely buy this again should this current spool ever run out... but I doubt it will for some time.

This typewriter ribbon is exactly what I was hoping to find. I found an old Smith Corona Classic 12 at a thrift store. It had everything with it, including the original ribbon (I think... it was very old anyway). It was dried up and I was pounding the keys to try to get anything to show up on the paper. Finally, I looked up typewriter ribbons and found this beaut! It works perfectly with my typewriter. It came quickly, and it fits perfectly, and works seamlessly. My only complaint being very minor: the spools are made of plastic, which is disappointing as I am a vintage and old things buff, and plastic I usually find detestable and cheap. Other than that, I have no issues, and I will order another when I need it (hopefully not for a long while!).
