The premise of this pool item is great. It does make a cool little fountain, emphasis on little. It shoots the streams of water about 1 - 1.5 feet, which is good, although the streams are very skinny - which is also good as far as battery consumption goes. The lights it projects into the pool at night are simply awesome. I have a 20 X 40-foot pool, and this covers a good deal of the bottom - pretty much the whole width and half the length. The effect is dazzling.The problem, at least for me, is that the solar panel doesn't seem all that efficient. It is a pretty good size, but never seems to have enough to keep running all day. I have a screened in pool, and when the panel crosses under one of the roof beams, which cast a shadow on less than half the panel, it slows the fountain quite a bit and sometimes it stops. If a cloud goes by, it normally stops completely.When nightfall arrives, it starts up the pump again at full force and turns the lights on. As previously mentioned, it looks great. Problem is, they only stay on for a couple of hours, then it is dark and not pumping for the rest of the night.Build quality seems nice. If only it didn't need unobstructed sunlight for so much of the day. I live in FL, so my sun level is pretty high. Any of my floating toys, ducks, peacocks, thermometers, etc., usually last all night, and they have tiny solar panels (but of course no pump).

It works beautifully during clear days, but even light shade can slow or stop the fountain temporarily. In Florida’s sunshine, it does well, but performance dips with passing clouds or if it drifts under shade.Spray Height Slightly Exaggerated: The fountain claims to reach 40–44 inches, but I found the spray is more like 18–24 inches, depending on the sunlight. It’s still visually appealing, but something to be aware of.Limited Nighttime Duration: While the lights do come on automatically and look fantastic, they usually last 2–3 hours after sunset. That’s enough for an evening swim, but not for a full night of ambiance.Final Thoughts: If you're managing expectations — this isn’t a high-pressure water feature — you’ll be very pleased. The build quality feels solid, the lights are mesmerizing, and it truly adds charm to any pool or pond. I’m even considering buying a second one to cover a larger area.

No it did not meet my expectations at all. It is very small and barely puts out a mist of water w some extremely dim lights after sitting in direct sunlight all day long.

The solar ones cannot be left out dry in the sun all day. They melt. Do not follow the instructions to do that! Give them an hour or two and then drop them in the water to keep cool. Or get one of the nice white rechargeable ones. The rechargeable even comes with a remote. It's gorgeous. Tie on the weight and then place the weight on the edge of the pool. Eventually you'll find a place where the unit happily floats around in the middle. Lovely to watch!

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this solar fountain totally blew me away. It was super easy to use — just put it in the pool and let the sun do its thing. The water spray is really nice, and the anchor actually keeps it from floating all over the place, which I didn’t think would matter, but it really does.The best part? The light show at night! It’s so pretty and colorful — makes the whole backyard feel kind of magical. We’ve gotten a bunch of compliments from friends who’ve come over, and my kids are obsessed with it.Honestly, for the price, this little thing adds a ton of fun and ambiance. I’d totally recommend it to anyone with a pool.

Color me impressed! Not only did the item arrive quite expeditiously, but it worked straight out of the box. My pool pump died on me, and i needed a quick way to prevent the water from sitting still and getting stagnant until I purchase another pump. I figured this was worth a try, and it's making the water splash enough that I don't think I need to worry about mosquitoes settling on the surface. I'm in the hi desert, so it will have a full charge most of the time. I wish I had ordered two yesterday, but am ordering a second one right now!
