I installed this on a solar array I have mounted on the roof of a shipping container. It is a simple breaker that will help reduce the risk of overloading my expensive solar controllers, so for $36 I am happy with it.It mounted to my wall beside my controller cleanly. I had to buy some solar cables to connect the switch to my controller, but that was an easy process.

Super convenient to have this pre-wired. Just mount it and plug in. I have a kind of temporary setup for portable panels to Anker and GoalZero. I actually wouldn't have put in a disconnect because I just have been unplugging every evening and when away (I don't love the idea of charging in my garage when I'm not there for safety). But this totally makes it easy. Just mount the block and plugin. Easy to move if needed!

While the breakers themselves seem ok, I am not going to use the connected cables and MC4 connectors without talking every single on apart and redoing the cable to connector joints. As you can see in the image, when I tugged on one of the cables, it started to pull out of the connector quite easily. When I took the connector apart, it was obvious that at the factory, they did a crappy job of crimping the connector. Also, while it might seem like an ok idea to ship the breaker with cables and connectors as a set, I can't recall ever doing an installation of panels where we used connectors at the breaker. This is someplace where the MC4s aren't required. When permanently mounting a breaker, the connection is also permanent. After taking the top of the breaker enclosure off, I wasn't really surprised to see that the workmanship wasn't great inside the box. As you can see from the image, the strand of wire that should be either trimmed or properly inserted into the terminal. This is problematic and indicative of poor quality control.✘ Three of the four terminal screws were too loos,e and I added at least two and a half turns to each.Since this box is made to be mounted internally or externally, I would expect that the screws used to hold the two halves together would be stainless and not carbon steel,l that will rust when wet. Trying to remove screws from plastic when the screw heads are rusted, and there is no good way to use an extractor because of the screw size and the plastic enclosure, which has the screws buried deep, is a task that will result in the box simply getting ripped off the wall. The breakers themselves are probably decent and if nothing else, are worth part of the cost of this "set," as I write the review, it's selling for $31.69. The breakers could be removed and then slipped onto a DIN rail in a different enclosure where the wiring could be done properly.I would suggest that if anyone is looking at buying this, take the above into consideration and make sure to, at the least, pull the MC4s apart and redo the crimping. Then check inside the box and make sure the cables are properly connected, and terminal fasteners tightened.
