Soundsulate MLV's combination of density and flexibility makes it a top choice for soundproofing projects. The very thin and flexible characteristics makes it an excellent choice for a variety of sound control applications without compromising space. It is designed to reduce transmission of airborne noises and vibrations through floors, walls and ceilings. Typical applications include applying over studs, joists or suspended ceilings. It can also be used as an acoustic wrap for machinery, equipment and ductwork. Please note: The thickness is nominal and may vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances. Weight is the more accurate and consistent measure for performance.

The first roll I got was really heavy! I had to drag into my room to get it in! The texture was rough, like lining for ponds!I cut these up into seperate rolls to staple on to the wall! It wasn't easy! The roll would slouch on the side as I'm doing it! I managed, but not by the most professional of standards! When I placed my prepared sound panels on them, they blocked off the sound really well. This roll was combined with 2 inch broadband panels, glued with Green Glue and on Chloroplast! Sound was blocked really well! The second roll I got was shinier and lighter! I could lift this one into the room! Plus, this time I couldn't mark it easily with chalk! I prepared my linings the same way I did for the first quarter of the room. This time I needed shorter lengths for the kitchen. I pinned over 1 inch wegde sound panels, glued on to foam boards with Green Glue onto the more shinier vinyl! After covering the wall areas and underneath the cabinets, it blocked all the transferred sound just as well as the other materials in the first quarter room!Although, at that point I realized I might have been given the wrong roll the first time! Oh well! With this second roll underneath 1 inch panels, I can validate its effectiveness! Totally worth it! ^^b

The product looks like a good product but I revived both rolls damaged and unusable due to the roll being stored on end.

Hung this up on an exterior fence to quiet down the piercing squeal from my neighbour's sprinkler pump. Measured with a cell phone app decibel meter, it cut down the noise by 15db. Not sure how accurate the app is, but the sound is very noticeablely reduced. I then faced my side with more wood panels on top so the vinyl cant be seen. Very happy with the results.

I needed something to dampen the sound between walls. The product definitely helped and was pretty easy to install.

I used this product on a fence along a busy road and it seems to have lowered the traffic loudness which is very nice. I'm going to also use this to line our laundry room which is next to our TV room so that it'll be quieter while running laundry. The product is very heavy though so keep that in mind you will need two people to install it. The UPS driver dropped it out of their truck and then rolled it and flipped it end over end to the middle of our driveway and left it there as they weren't able to pick it up. The ends of the product were damaged slightly by the UPS driver and you should expect that to happen with yours because the ends are not covered by any packing at all. However having the ends damaged slightly only damaged maybe 6 ft length of material and since it's just hanging sound insulation it's just aesthetic - it doesn't impact the working of the product.

Good product, easy to work with and cuts easily. Product is soft, so stapling is necessary to keep it attached. The roll is very heavy, you’ll need a strong back and a helper. Very impressed with the sound suppression.

IT was hard to install, but it works. It was very, very heavy. The superintendent was putting up sound proofing for me. The neighbors next door are a pain. He put a total of 4 layers of stuff on the wall. This was just one of the 4. Altogether they have managed to assuage the problem and the disturbances are less bothersome. It helps to kill the sound. I wouldn't count just on this however, as even all 4 types of material didn't kill the people's activities including playing a piano (not too well) and arguing at all hours of the morning and night. This stuff helped. It was very heavy. He had a difficult time putting it up; but he got it done. You need this and then about 3 other layers of stuff-- more solid stuff and so forth. And I live in a coop apartment building where there are noreally LOUD (like police) noises. It's just that they disturb my peace of mind. Now it is a lot better.

I used this to create a sound barrier in an apartment building by putting it over stringers and then laying 5/8" sheetrock on top of it. The weight is half of the next version (and the cost much lower), but the sound performance is very close based on the data I found online. I was able to handle it myself using the shelf on my stepladder as a deadman to hold the roll while I stapled the top into place. Important to go over with a better fastener than the staples once it's in place - using the insulation stapler I was able to do this myself as I said. not sure if I could have done otherwise. highly recommend this.
