Decent quality router sled. Great for flattening slabs, I picked up this one as I have a much bigger one and wanted something for those smaller projects and this did not disappoint. It is very easy to use and functional.

The setup based on the directions is very difficult without accurate pictures. The router plates are too flimsy and should be much more studied, as the plexiglass or similar material bends and flexes, affecting the depth of the cut. This ruined a 3K piece of Wenge. It was my fault for rushing and not fully testing the setup—I learned my lesson and will be modifying the router base to accommodate the vibration.

So.. I don't use it for slabs though I did try it a few times and that did work really well but this is also great for if you have resin pours and they didn't go as well(bubbles on the top) you can use this to shave a bit off and make it perfectly level. That is freaken fantastic. It's super heavy duty and very accurate(in that it keeps the router in the exact position you set. It comes well packaged and is very economical for what it does. I highly recommend it. The times when I did use it to flatten the slabs as well was when I was getting ready to pour the resin and needed to make sure the whole slab was flat. I just haven't had a lot of work so far but it is impressive.

If I could deduct a half star for the directions I would. That being said, once you figure out the frat step or two, it’s really easy. It was a bit finicky getting it set to my tables width but I’m used to setting things up and it taking a few tries to get it perfect. Once set up, it rides extremely smooth. The adjusting of the height is really quite easy. I got this model as to not have to store rails which is a big plus for me but I do plan on making a permanent flattening table in the near future where I won’t mind having rails. This product gives me faith that their other professional flattening system will be worth it once the time comes. I got the dust collection upgrade and it dramatically improved that aspect compared to my home made flattening jig, which had no dust collection at all. This thing is sturdy, runs smooth, is made of Ridgid materials, fit and finish are nice. It’s hard to knock any points off of it. It does exactly what it claims it does in the videos.

This router sled for flattening slabs is a 48" 3-axis with adjustable reinforced rails. It takes a little bit of time to figure out everything with the included instructions to get it setup, but it is doable and got me acquainted with its operation even more. The tabletop surface that the rollers are rolling on must be completely flat for this to work correctly. This means any imperfections or blockages will also affect the rolling operation. When there is dust and debris flying onto the tabletop as the router is working, it makes proper dust collection very important or at the very least one needs to be aware of the rollers and the dust buildup. I would probably suggest adding one's own small rails to elevate off the surface to minimize the impact of the debris and reduce the amount of cleaning. Or, adding their dust collection shroud or some built in dust collection is ideal to keep the issue away in the first place. I would note that the dust shroud seems to have dropped front and back edges which the end caps on this mill will interfere with in order to keep from using the maximum width, but the dust collection is fully worth it in my opinion. The operation of this router sled works very well, and I have had good results on both wood slabs and combination wood/epoxy pieces. If using a heavy router, I would suggest checking if there is any flex to the mounting plate and reinforcing if necessary or going with a lighter router. Although, I am satisfied with the metal rails, adjustability, and machining of the various parts. I am quite pleased with the value of this router sled and its overall performance; it makes getting a large slab flat pretty easy.
