Works perfectly for devices with high initial power demand. I had a regular 20amp for my DeWalt 779 miter saw, and it would trip about half the time. Reading into the issue, I realized the issue and found this breaker was the solution. Very happy, would definitely purchase again if needed.

I have a Dewalt sliding miter saw that is an outstanding tool except for frequently popping a 20A breaker on start-up. This breaker solved the issue. I have a second, dedicated circuit with a Dewalt air compressor with the same issue. Buying a second breaker to put both issues behind me.

So here's the deal. I have a large Rack mount Toroidal Transformer Power Conditioner that I run all of my rack mounted music recording and sound processing equipment off of. This thing probably weighs 70# and takes up 2 rack spaces just to give a visual. IT needs a 20 amp circuit as its cord has a horizontal prong for the hot wire. Basically you need a matching 20 amp outlet, 12 gauge wire and a 20 amp breaker to power this unit. Problem is when you go to turn it on it instantly trips the breaker. I started doing research and found that commercial breakers have what are called inrush current ratings , usually B,C,D with D being the most tolerant , different curves that multiply the amount of normal current draw for different applications so that during the first second of startup the breaker doesn't trip, this inrush happens so fast that the wire doesn't have time to heat up. The problem then becomes finding a breaker rated like this for home circuit breaker panels, remember the "commercial" application I stated above. This breaker happens to solve the problem for home use, the high magnetic design allows for that brief period of startup to happen without tripping the breaker. Once installed I switched it on and the very first time I turned on my Power Conditioner, it Worked like it should. The breaker as another person noted is identified with a yellow sticker on the side showing that it is High Magnetic.

Had a motor load that kept tripping the breaker on startup. No longer!

I replaced a regular HOM breaker with this high mag version and it worked exactly as expected. Due to high initial load, the regular breaker would trip every time I operated the 4-post car lift that was attached to the circuit. This breaker solved the problem.

Needed this breaker for an air compressor that was sometimes tripping a standard 20a breaker on startup. Solved my dilemma.

While the stock photo that's being used, looks like a typical HOM120 breaker, the only visual difference for a HOM120-HM is a yellow sticker on the side of the breaker that indicates High Magnetic (IE: which makes it a HOM120-HM). It'd be handy if they showed that in the photo !
