This review is for the Heavy Duty Paper Cutter for A4 Paper, Guillotine Paper Cutter 12 Inch, 400 Sheet Capacity, Solid Steel Construction, BlackFrom: AlzuwimsOkay, so I ordered this paper cutter because I sometimes create my own greeting cards, and I also have a chamber vacuum sealer to seal my foods for storage. Being that I have a lot of roles of vacuum seal bag material, I felt I could make use of this paper cutter to cut my own vacuum sealer bags. Oh, and by the way, as noted in the product description, this machine will cut more than just paper.First, I'd say the safety mechanisms are great. Before you can pull the handle down, its blocked and you must manually pull or press a button to allow the blade handle to come down. This is great as it makes you aware before you pull the blade down. Now, in addition to this, there are physical barriers around the blade itself that makes this paper cutter safer, and I feel they've been well designed. At the same time, I'd strongly recommend children or people who know nothing about a paper cutter to avoid using this machine.I did test cutting some various types of paper on this machine and sure enough, the cuts came out very precise and clean. I'd say if you're just casually going to use a paper cutter, you could get away with a lot less expensive machine as this thing really is industrial grade and built for a daily user and/or a small business. Now, while I still think the paper cutter itself deserves 5 stars, there is one issue I'd like to address. The manual that came with it really does not show you how to actually use the paper cutter. I had to figure that out myself. The press handle was installed in reverse which I think was for shipping purposes and it took me awhile to figure this out. So, I had to take one of the (included) Allen wrenches and undo it and turn it around so as to install it correctly. When installed correctly, you can then crank the handle and it will raise this vertical wall which will then allow your paper to align over the blade. Please, look at your shipped paper cutter and then carefully look at the illustration in the manual and you should see how you need to reverse this so it matches the illustration in the manual. The handle should point outward, and not inward which is how mine came shipped. The point of all this is I wish the manufacturer would have mentioned this in the manual. In summary though, this is a professional grade paper cutter and should be more than adequate for any home hobbyists who occasionally cuts paper, and also adequate for say, a small business owner who cuts a lot of paper daily.

Hot holy hell! This joker weighs a ton! I was shocked by the weight! I know there's a lot of! in this review. On top of this being a weighty piece of equipment - it's also very large! I believe this is more suitable for someone who is embarking upon or into a commercial venture versus someone like me who wanted a really good to excellent paper cutter for my own personal artistic creations. I will have to get used to this one. I gave it a five-star rating because although it is not exactly for me it does more than do the job. You better know exactly what you're doing when you're using this paper cutter and it is definitely not for children or young teenagers or those with limited abilities to use. I would be very concerned about someone getting hurt using this bit of machinery.

If you need to cleaning cut stacks of paper or trim books, this is the cutter for you. Other than the protection shield and a plastic cover for the small toolbox, everything else is metal. This thing is very heavy, so just be mindful of that when using...you are not going to carry this around from room to room, once you find a place for it best to just leave it there. Functionally this guillotine works fantastic, after some initial minor adjustments just slide the paper stack in, clamp down and cut. If you intend on cutting a few sheets at a time, don't bother with this cutter...do yourself a favor and get something much smaller. This cutter is intended for heavy duty clean cutting of stacks of sheets of paper.
