Easy to install and works well as a factory replacement. Make sure you check the bus fuse on your factory controller before purchasing the whole unit.

I was having issues with my pellet smoker and heat control. Figured I would attempt to replace the controller instead of the entire unit. Super easy to install - just pop out the old one, switch out the wires and pop it in. Fixed my issue

Updated review*****I hope this helps someone...Stanbroil came through within 48 hours of me reaching out to ask for a replacement, I am happy to say they came through with flying colors even though my unit failed after 5 months, I highly recommend buying from this seller, they will back up their items...I am leaving the old review below because i feel that it is a safety concern and a possible fire hazard, if your igniter does not go out after shutting your control board off, and or if the igniter rod glows red just by plugging the unit in, you need to replace your control board, otherwise you will burn out the igniter rods one after the other...the first clue something is wrong is the 200w fuse will blow out, and you can actually hear the power spark when plugging your unit into the wall...and the igniter rod will be red hot immediately with the switch off...The controller is malfunctioning whereby it allows the igniter rod to light up immediately upon plugging in the unit, with the board in the off position, creating blown fuses and burned out igniter probes, 2 of them so far.

I bought this because my old the stock thermostat wasn’t working after a high temp event, that’s a whole other story. Installing was a little much, it’s important to keep track of what goes where when you unplug the stock thermostat.With the old thermostat it did a up and down cycle, it goes above the temp, and below the temp.. during the cooking process.. this one brings it to temp and stays at that temp… steady… that to me was an upgrade.. highly recommended!!!

When I tried this controller on my pit boss, I bought the replacement thermostat as well. Hooking it up was simple enough, fired it up and started fine. However, this product was way off on temperature I set it to 225, the controller went as high as 610 degree before alarming out. When I used my Grill Eye temperature monitor, to get to 225 degrees inside, I had to set the controller to 400 degrees (and even that wasn't a guarantee. Customer service was very polite after the 2nd email with pictures showing their unit was bad and not my fault or operator error. When customer service got back with me, they said buying on Amazon, they can not send a replacement (would give a redeem code, but I would still have to pay something). Would not recommend buying this, just a bad overall experience
