I used to just use a fingertip dipped in water to smooth caulk, or the back of a spoon. I picked this kit up to give myself options other than a finger. The included tools give you a variety of caulk smoothing profiles to fit numerous different scenarios. The caulk removal tool also comes in very handy when prepping. It makes removal of old caulk and sealant easy.Clean up is also very easy. I'm not sure how durable these are but time will tell. Overall this is a functional kit that makes caulking much easier and less messy. It seems like a good value. I'll be sure to update this review with any thoughts I have on durability in the future.

Honestly, based on the description, I was expecting this cartridge and nozzle cutter to feel higher quality. While it does ultimately get the job done for making quick and precise diagonal and straight cuts on sealant nozzles, I can't say it feels like a significant upgrade from a standard utility knife. The blades are sharp enough to cut through silicone nozzles without too much effort, and it does what it's designed to do. The pocket-sized design is convenient for carrying around in a toolkit, and the enclosed blade is a nice safety feature to prevent accidental cuts when it's not in use.The one-hand design is also fairly comfortable to use. However, the overall feel of the tool just doesn't scream quality. It feels a bit lightweight and perhaps not as robust as I had anticipated. While it's versatile for cutting silicone nozzles and other materials related to sealing applications, I still find myself reaching for my utility knife at times, simply out of habit and a sense of familiarity with its sturdiness. For someone who does a lot of caulking and sealing, this might offer a slight convenience factor with its specific design for nozzles. However, if you're an occasional user, you might find that a good utility knife can accomplish the same tasks without the need for a separate tool. It's functional, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations in terms of overall quality feel.

Had been one to try one of these caulking tool kits as I've been seeing a lot of them on Amazon lately. They do work better than just using a finger but I found you should keep the initial layer of caulk to a minimum as it will pile up quickly on the tool while using it. Some recommend using your finger first and then the tool to finish the job. At any rate, a handy tool set to finish out your caulking job and make it look much neater than just using a finger.

I am writing reviews for 2 different tools since I'm only able to write one review for all 3 items that are listed on this page.Caulk remover and smoothing 4 in 1 tool kit: 4 stars. The caulk removing tool feels durable and has a few different angles and edges so it makes removing and scraping off old caulk fairly easy. The caulk smoothing parts have nice edges with different sizes of curves and angels which makes it great for different projects. The materials of the smoothing tool feels to be good quality but they are on the small side. They do not attach to the handle as trowel set does which makes it good for small projects but harder to hold and you must be careful not to get caulk on your hands.Caulking cartridge and nozzle cutter: 3 stars.I also received the caulk nozzle cutter which is nice but not perfect. I think it's a great idea but it feels a little cheap and the cutter hole fits all sizes of tubes but is a little tricky to use on smaller tubes. It makes a nice clean cut and has a angle in the slot so you can cut it in a nice clean angle. Unfortunately the blade does not appear be replaceable so once it's worn the complete tool needs to be replaced. the round tube cutter has a small triangle blade that once lined up works nicely but the clear plastic cover tends to fall off. The plastic material feels a little hard and may break easy if dropped on a hard surface, I don't know this for sure but this type of plastic tends to crack fairly easy. Overall it's a great idea but could be made better.

This review is for the caulk spreading tool kit.I recently had to recaulk the wall where it meets my bathtub. I used a razor blade scraper to remove the old caulk and my finger to smooth out the new caulk. It worked, but it was messy and the aesthetics weren't perfect.I ordered this caulking tool kit so I can get a more professional looking result the next time. The tool to remove the old caulk is hooked which should help pull it loose, and since the tool is silicone, it won't scratch my tub surround. There are four smoothing tools with four profiles on each of them so I should be able to find one that works for any of my future household caulking requirements. The removal tool and the spreaders are all silicone so cleanup should be very easy. I think I'm ready for my next caulking job.

What hit me immediately was how small these are, to the point that they are almost hard to hold. I have another set of theses that I use all the time to apply silicone caulk (don't forget to spray with Windex first!). The set I have is about 50% larger than these.Other than the size these seem to be made well. They seem durable, they have a nice sharp edge to cut away the excess caulk. I mean it's not rocket science, it's a piece of plastic used to remove excess caulk, I just wish they had made them a bit bigger so that they would be easier to hold.
