My dad used to have one of these many years ago and now I have one of my own. That's exactly how I remember it.

It was a birthday present, but the box was shop worn and beat up. The battery was worn down, if I had seen this first, I would have chosen something else.

Nice sound effect on one setting. The other one is NOT at all accurate. The Phaser itself looks accurate, but it is so massive! It is like 3 times as big as the actual size.

Aside from the known fact that technology at the time required it to be much bigger than the screen prop, I found the buttons didn't line up well, causing them to stick. Otherwise, it displays well.

I think this toy gun is okay but just so you know the two big buttons are hard to push on but I, wolud to add this to my star trek toy gun group. It does not light up very well but it's still a great toy add to your weapons locker. You have got to love Star Trek the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager too. To my fellow star trek friends; Make It So!

Way too big and clunky. You can't even really get your hands around it, and I have huge hands. I had one of these (briefly) years ago and I hated it. There has never really been a good Next Gen type one phaser toy.
