I think it's a good mixer, though mixing one of the Kirkland jars did take a little while, up to 3 or 4 minutes. I may have been a bit gun shy as my attempts to mix the last two or three jars of peanut butter prior to this tool ended up in a long cleanup of splattered peanut butter. I was starting slow and trying to work up to some speed but it did still take a little longer than expected even at a higher speed. But the included spatula did handle cleaning off the stirrer better than expected and the consistency is nice now. I wish I could find one that was keyed for our immersion blender or hand mixer, just to keep the kitchen and the shed separate. I do use my drill extensively so will have to give the chuck a thorough wiping for every new jar of peanut butter to avoid errant dust and such falling in. Before and after pictures attached!

Used with a cordless drill, the metal stirring rod stays secure and stirs the peanut butter well. I buy all natural peanut butter and store it upside down so the oil "rises to the bottom of the jar." So when I'm ready to open it, I don't have all that sloppy oil at the top when I'm ready to stir the oil and the solids. I do not remove a spoon or two of oil, but if I did I would store the jar right-side-up to remove the oil immediately after opening.I was skeptical about the rod staying secure in the drill, and concerned that the metal "paddle" at the bottom would clank against the glass jar. It didn't, not even when I tried to press the spinning paddle against the jar. Using the slow speed on my 2-speed drill was the way to go, and I found that in a half full jar, I could lift the paddle out of the peanut butter but keep it below the rim of the jar, and then squeeze the trigger to go full speed in the low speed mode and lots of the goopy peanut butter spun off onto the side of the jar. Here's what I don't like, but am able to accept because this is the way to use it: I don't like the idea of bringing out a power tool to have a peanut butter and jelly toasted sandwich. Do I HAVE to bring out the drill to an opened and previously stirred jar of peanut butter? No. But it works so well! I like the uniform consistency, so who knows how much I'll use it, but for sure, for a NEW jar I've just opened, there's no going back - this tool is the way to go.

For years my husband and I have dreaded when the natural peanut butter bottle was nearing the bottom and then one of us would have to either volunteer or request the other to open and stir up a new bottle for use. Well, this handy tool makes fun and ease of a dreaded job!! Upon receiving and opening the baggy that included a peanut butter stirring drill bit and a silicone spatula (photo #1), I found no instructions for use of either. I was puzzled why the end of the drill bit rod was smooth, unlike normal drill bits, that have notches or some type of irregularity that would create enough friction, so the shaft does not loosen or slip in the drill motor during rotation (see photo #2 where I have the stirring drill bit on the top and an example of a hex-shaped drill bit that locks securely in a drill motor). I knew that before I would attempt to use this stirring rod in my drill motor, I needed to correct that problem. So, I got a metal file and ran the edge of it over the surface of the last 2 inches of the stirring rod to create abrasions and notches so it would stay securely fastened in the drill motor without slipping (photo #3 doesn't show very well the extent of the abrasions, but it's there). After doing that, I was able to use it without any incident in my drill motor and it worked wonderfully!!! What fun we now have stirring the natural peanut butter in our household!! Now, to comment on the enclosed silicone spatula. I was puzzled as to the purpose of the slot and hole in it. While there are no instructions that accompany the stirring set, there is a photo on this item's Amazon web page that shows how to clean off the stirring rod by sliding the rod in between the slot of the spatula, securing the rod in the spatula's hole, and then sliding the peanut butter right off the rod by way of this spatula. What an innovative idea! I love it! Again, this is a great tool after the rod is textured enough on the end to keep it from slipping in the drill motor during rotation. Other than that, I highly recommend this wonderful peanut butter tool and spatula set!!

This is a total Guy thing using power tools in the kitchen! Some warnings to the newbies:• Get an oversized lid and poke a hole in the center to thread the stir stick through. Slide it down to cover the jar. Now when you turn on your drill and it starts too fast you won’t automatically fling peanut oil and butter all over the kitchen until you get your drill under control.• Start SLOW. This stuff is sticky if it escapes the jar and cleanup is a veritable ogre!• Be thorough. Patience will be rewarded with a full jar of velvety creamy peanut goodness.• There’s a good reason for that hole in the spatula to scrape off all the creamy velvet from the stir stick making ultimate cleaning easy. There’s not much better than natural peanut butter once you’ve mixed it completely with the oil and next to impossible with only a fork. This adaptation from a paint stir is a game changer. Now let’s talk add-ins. . .

This is exaclty what I needed to stir my nut butters, and the included scraper is neat with the hole so you can get almost every bit of what you are off.It fit easily into my blender as well as my spouses drill, the drill was a bit more power than I needed and my mixer worked fine. I would add to make sure you hold the jar tightly when using this.
