I have always wanted to sublimate clipboards so was excited to have the opportunity to try with this purchase. The ink transferred well, but the board did "bend" a bit in the middle which tells me I need to put a heavy book on top immediately after removing from the heat press in order to retain the flat shape. Once I put it together it all looked nice and professional, but I could still see a slight bend, but probably it would be unnoticeable to others. It is nice to have a custom clipboard!

This clipboard came well packaged and in perfect condition. It had a protective plastic sheet on each side which, when removed, revealed a clean and scratch-free surface that can be printed on both sides. It is bigger than my largest sublimation paper so I debated whether to overlap my design to cover the whole surface or place a smaller design. I decided to make one large design and printed on my 8.5 x 14 paper. I really worked on the seam with a brayer and a wooden burnishing tool. I pressed it at 180* C for 60 seconds. Since the description stated that it might bend or warp, I weighed it down with a heavy book while cooling. After a couple of hours I peeled off the paper and it came out very nicely. It sublimated beautifully. The colors are deep and vibrant. It did bow a little bit diagonally, but my brother was able to bend it back easily. He also put the hardware on for me and everything came out perfectly. At about $13 I think it’s a good value.

The board is HDF (high density fiberboard). It does not like impacts at all. As clipboards can get tossed around this thing is not going to hold up over time. During the pressing of the art onto the board it took a little hit and the corner is now creased. It happens but it doesnt give comfort of life over time and for that I will ding only a star because it does take the ink REALLY well. The colors are vibrant and thats kinda what ya want in sublimation. So it would be a nice custom decor piece but if its a usable dependable clipboard. Less than great. So all about application of it.

I am always looking for new sublimation blanks. I love having a vision and making it come to life. This is a great item that takes the ink exactly as expected. I love that both sides can be sublimated. Easy to use. My printer does not make designs this large. I had to decide whether I wanted to attempt the piecing together of two pages or leave a white background and apply smaller pieces of design. I did finally decide to piece it together and use techniques I have learned to do on cups that wrap making sure to press the line where the pages meet. The design came out flawless!

I was super excited to get these clipboards in but am extremely unhappy with them. I have used their recommended heat settings and suggested time and have ruined 4 out of the box so far! They bow a bit in the middle after they are pressed so the designs never fully transfers in the center. I wouldn’t recommend this item and wasting $42. I have 2 left so I’ll play around with my settings and see if I can salvage one clipboard.

This clipboard sublimated well but the colors smeared (not ghosting by smearing) so I would suggest you let it set overnight before using it. It smelled terrible while sublimating so make sure you have proper ventilation. The clip itself was a bit difficult to get on. I couldn’t get the screws in tightly so the clip rattled around. The board also warped when I did the second side so I would suggest putting it under something g heavy while it cools. I do like the finished look (other than the smearing) and I might buy more and try again to see if I have better luck.

This is a clipboard that can be customized with sublimation printing. The clipboard measures 8.8”x12.4” x 5 mm thick. It is coated on both sides to receive sublimation transfers. Both sides are also coated with plastic film that must be removed before doing the transfers. The hardware for the clipboard comes in a small separate bag. After doing the heat transfers, you need to assemble the hardware, which takes just a few minutes and a Phillips head screwdriver. To customize this clipboard, you will also need a sublimation printer with sublimation inks, sublimation paper, heat resistant tape, and a heat press.I really like the design of this clipboard with its retractable hook. With the hook, I can easily hang the clipboard on my organizer pegboard. And with the sublimation coating, I was able to customize the clipboard with the photographs that I wanted. The transfer came out quite nice with sharp details on the photographs. I set my heat press for 375F for 70 seconds. The board looked a little warped when I took it out of the press, so I piled some books on top of it to flatten it as it cooled and it came out great. Be sure to allow for the placement of the hardware as you work out your design. The size of the clipboard is great for either standard letter or A4 paper since you have a little wiggle room on all sides. Overall, this is a fun project for sublimation hobbyists.

So much fun to make! These clipboard took the colors so we'll. It is a sturdy clipboard and easy to put together.
