I'm an Pediatric Emergency medicine specialist, practicing suturing on a daily basis. I've seen many products of this kind, and I'm sorry to say that this product is of very low quality. I've tried this product with several different suture types and sizes.first of all - the product itself STINKS of petroleum, and has a slimy-oily layer of petroleum as well.The simulated wounds/lacerations themselves are not realistic, as they require a lot of tension for closure, which is unequivocal to their width and length, and that same suture tension , in addition to the low quality of the material, causes it to tear easily.

I have several suture pads, and this one was considerably lower quality. It was super sticky and gross feeling when I took it out of the package. I tried a couple sutures and they ripped through easier than other pads I have.

There some slimy residue on it and it will not hold a suture without ripping through. Returned it.

Granted I’ve never tried another similar product, this one worked perfectly for me. I was worried about its durability due to some reviews saying the skin tears easy, but I had no issues especially given the fact that elderly skin can rip to shreds as you suture if you are not very careful- this is definitely not as delicate as that, yet gives you a good feel for how delicate skin can be anyway. That’s important to know.Absolutely satisfied.
