This is a great filter at an excellent price. I use it on my planetary camera.

Inexpensive and pretty alright to cut down on light. The biggest negative was that the filter was not secure in the frame upon arrival. The hue on the fringes of the filter can be distracting at times but that also varies with usage.Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It’s worth the purchase. The photo above was taken with the filter in place.

Colors in the yellow spectrum seem dulled to me

I purchased this adapter-filter combo mostly for the C-mount to 1.25" eyepiece holder adapter part to use in a project with one of my astro imaging cameras; the filter was a bonus for just a few dollars more. And I am glad I did - because both items look to be of high quality. I was a little concerned about a negative review about the filter, that seemed to suggest it was not a real UV/IR cut filter. While I cannot easily test and confirm the filter glass's ability to cut out unwanted (invisible) shorter UV wavelengths and longer wavelengths IR light, the filter looks like a "real" IR/UV cut filter to me, based on its appearances at least - I have no particular reason to doubt that it's a legitimate product. I have purchased a couple of other SvBony products and they make available quality products at affordable prices. (e.g. SV305 astro imaging camera that I recently purchased). I am pleased with my purchase.

We have used these in our optics lab on full spectrum cameras to eliminate IR and UV induced color casts, they worked perfectly for that application. We have also used them to limit the spectrum of light to the visible wavelengths for tests and processes. They do a good job. These cut UV pretty well and pass above about 400nm thru to around 725nm. The spectrum photo I added illustrates the UV cut well, the source I was using isn't putting out a lot of IR, so it's less obvious there, but trust me, it works. The left image is unfiltered light from an arc lamp, the right image is the same setup plus the UV/IR cut filter in place. We had a video camera with terrible trouble producing accurate colors due to IR contamination, with this filter installed in front of the lens, it looked great. Cheap and effective. What's not to like?!
