I got this to mount a light on my Mossberg 500 and I'm really happy with it!It fits the barrel and the magazine tube perfectly, and the method of tightening with one screw on each side made it easy to get it nice and snug. The rubber pads need to be applied to it before installation and they have a strong adhesive backing. With them on, I have no worries about this causing any marring. I put a little bit of blue threadlocker on the bolts to keep it from coming off under use.The rails are machined well and I had no issues getting my light mounted. so far this has held up quite well, and if I have any issues under use, I'll be sure to come back and update the review.

Made of aluminum so it feels solid. Overall easy install with no need to take your barrel or tube apart. Simply hold both pieces with your fingers as you install the screws. Both sides have a recessed hole for the screw to go in flush to make it easier to figure out which way you should put the screws in. comes with some padding if you're worried about scratching. hopefully it doesn't shift of melt over use.

Seems solid, well made, and takes shotgun recoil quite well. Only thing I don't like is that as it screws to the mag tube, it makes the gun impossible to disassemble in the field without the appropriate tool. One could duct tape it to the stock, underneath a hook and loop shell holder, etc. but I would not want to be too far without the appropriate tools to pull this off and clear a stoppage or malfunction.

I own an old Mossy 590 pump action shotgun and wanted to put some accessories on it, like a flashlight on the side of it. Having 18.5 inch barrel it leaves a little less than 3 inches in front of the magazine tube for a clamp. Somehow most clamps of this type which claim to fit the Mossberg 590 are longer and would not fit. The barrel clamp mount fit perfectly. It is very easy to install, it comes with the rubber pads to protect both the barrel and the magazine tube from damage. I have some concern about the durability of this barrel clamp but since this Mossy is for home protection only it is not a big one.

The Hidcor Tactical Shotgun Barrel Clamp Mount offers a simple and affordable solution for adding a Picatinny rail to your 12-gauge shotgun, primarily for mounting accessories like flashlights or lasers. Designed to be compatible with popular models like the Mossberg 500/590, Maverick 88, Remington 870, and SXP Defender, it aims to provide a versatile platform without breaking the bank.Pros:Affordable Price: This is undoubtedly the biggest draw. Compared to other mounting solutions, the Hidcor clamp is significantly cheaper, making it a viable option for budget-conscious shooters.Wide Compatibility: The advertised compatibility with a range of popular shotgun models is a major plus. Users with common shotguns like the Mossberg 500/590 or Remington 870 should find it fits without issue.Ease of Installation: Installation appears to be straightforward, generally requiring only a screwdriver or Allen wrench. The clamp design simplifies the mounting process.Rubber Pads: The inclusion of rubber pads is a smart design choice. They help protect the shotgun's barrel from scratches and provide a more secure grip, preventing slippage during recoil.Functional Picatinny Rail: The integrated Picatinny rail provides a standard platform for mounting various accessories, increasing the shotgun's versatility.Cons:Durability Concerns: Given the lower price point, the materials and overall build quality might be a point of concern for some users. It may not be as robust as higher-end, more expensive options. Long-term durability, especially with heavy recoil or rough handling, is a potential question mark.Potential for Movement: While the rubber pads help, depending on the specific shotgun model and the accessories mounted, there's a possibility of the clamp shifting or rotating under heavy recoil. Proper tightening and potentially the use of thread locker (Loctite) might be necessary.Aesthetic Considerations: The clamp's appearance is rather utilitarian. Some users might find it less visually appealing compared to sleeker, more integrated mounting solutions.Rail Length: The length of the Picatinny rail might be limiting for users who want to mount multiple accessories or require more flexibility in positioning.Overall:The Hidcor Tactical Shotgun Barrel Clamp Mount is a decent option for shooters who need a budget-friendly way to add a Picatinny rail to their shotgun. Its wide compatibility, ease of installation, and inclusion of rubber pads are significant advantages. However, potential buyers should be aware of the possible durability concerns and the need to properly secure the clamp to prevent movement.Who is it for?Budget-conscious shootersThose who need a simple and easy-to-install mounting solutionUsers who primarily want to mount a single accessory like a flashlightIndividuals looking for a temporary or occasional-use mounting solutionWho is it NOT for? Those who require extremely rugged and durable mounting solutionsShooters who need to mount multiple accessories or require a longer railUsers who prioritize aesthetics and want a seamlessly integrated lookThose who anticipate heavy use or high recoil scenarios where a more robust mount is recommended.Recommendation:If you're on a tight budget and need a basic way to mount a flashlight or laser to your shotgun, the Hidcor clamp is worth considering. However, be sure to check for proper fitment on your specific shotgun model, tighten the screws securely, and monitor the clamp for any signs of movement during use. For serious tactical applications or heavy use, investing in a higher-quality mounting system might be a better long-term investment. Consider using some thread locker (like Loctite) to help ensure the clamp stays securely in place.

The design of this is really nice. The two halves separate completely to fit over the barrel and magazine tube. Pic rails are milled into the mount which helps with strength and removing the need for extra screws. Screw holes are countersunk in such a way that you balance out the screw compression forces with one screw head on either side. Only ding has to be the finish; mine arrived with the black coating kind of worn off of one edge already. Overall it's a good accessory rail.

I have 590’s, 500’s, 870s and an 88. I threw this on my 590 and I’m surprised how rock solid it is. You really have to secure it tight. You have to put on 4 rubber stickers which are nice, soft and almost sticky rubber on one side, 3M tape on the other. Take your time and make sure everything is flush for install, then secure with 2 screws and the Allen key provided. Hardware is well made and didn’t soften up or strip out at all, which a lot of budget stuff does. I have faith this will hold up under recoil, but I will report back if it doesn’t. In that event, I would just add some blue loctite. It looks and feels fantastic, is generally low profile compared to other comparable mounts, very lightweight and is a fantastic budget light mounting option for your favorite shotgun.

I hate to break it to some of the big names, but this is a very well made light mount with a great variety of fit options. It was not listed, but I easily installed it on a Black Aces. The little stickers protect your finish and keep it from sliding without having to crank it down so hard you risk denting your magazine tube. They may also provide a little shock isolation to keep the screws from backing out.Pro-tip - I did not use locktite like I would on scope mounts as it makes it hard to remove the extension during cleaning. A little wrap of teflon tape (as used in plumbing) has served me well and may work for you too.
