Designed for indoor or outdoor use, it measures a wide temperature range from -40°F to 120°F (Fahrenheit only) and the hygrometer reads humidity levels between 40- 90%. This dial thermometer also features a wind chill and heat index indication. Colorful graphics on a bright white background with bold red indicator pointers offers easy readability. The thermometer is weather resistant and shatterproof so it can be left up year-round without worry of damage or inaccurate readings due to extreme temperatures.

When I first got this thermometer I thought it was great, but after a while I could not help but notice that it was reading more than 10 degrees warmer than our other two thermometers. I went to our local weather station and kept track of what the local weather was over about 10 days and those reports coincided with the other two thermometers but not this one.I took the face cover off and turned the needle to what it was supposed to be reading but it snapped right back to the erronerous reading, so I twisted the needle all the way around in the right direction. It snapped back but was closer to the correct tempreture, so I did that two more times. Now it is only off by a few degrees, so I put the face back on it and hung it back where it was. Nothing that cannot be fixed with brute force and awkwardness. That is why I rewrote my review.

Here is what I sent to customer service below in quotations when I received a replacement but I never got a reply from anyone. I wanted to know why the hygrometer was so inaccurate. Instead, I was sent another of these thermometers that also didn't work right and was inaccurate. I now have three of them!"I received the new unit. Thank you, for your prompt service. Taylor packed it very well but the post office still managed to crush the box. When I opened it the plastic face plate had a crack in the middle of it. That's not a big problem as I could replace that with the face plate from the old one and they are not air tight anyway. The problem is that the hygrometer is not accurate. When it's raining out and the humidity is 100%, it shows as 60%. The temperature is pretty close but the reason I bought that particular unit was for the hygrometer and it reads 40% on the low side always. Do you have any unit with the hygrometer that is accurate? I'm not happy with this one. "Then I sent them this email"The design of this device really needs improving. As you can see from the attached picture the humidity needle gets caught behind the temperature needle at certain weather incidences. By not having a complete circle on the humidity gauge you cannot see all possible humidities and the needle will get hung up. The humidity gauge stops at 40% but none of them read accurately. I looked on Taylor's website and all of this style with hygrometers are half dials and the needle will get hung up at some point. Have you had any other complaints regarding this style of thermometers? I just wanted to know if anyone else is having problems with them with the inaccuracy and the humidity needle getting stuck behind the temperature needle. Please don't send me anymore of these as they don't work correctly. I have three of them. Just looking for some answers. I hope that this constructive criticism is useful. Do you have a new design that works correctly?"It's been six weeks and counting since I sent this email to customer service and I'm not holding my breath waiting for a response. Thank goodness at least they didn't send me another one of these useless thermometers. This is the first one star review I've ever written but they deserve it! Precision....what a laugh!

Everything is great. Plastic is much weaker than one would expect for an outdoor item.

This is my 3rd purchace of the same weather gage as the winter winds are brutal and the gages plastic cover cracks with the heat and cold. I keep buying the same one because of the ease of reading the gage with large numbers and colorful face.
