As another reviewer stated, the curved blocks on this do not align with the actual screw spacing pattern of a Meade 8" SCT as advertised. Unlike the other reviewer, I do not think a customer should have to drill or machine anything supposedly designed well, after paying ~$100 for a slim piece of metal.Avoid wasting your time on this.**updated with pictures.I received the brand losmandy DM8 today (actually cheaper, though heavier) and can now see exactly why Farpoint failed with this. The Losmandy mounting brackets have elongated slots to allow tolerance for manufacturing inaccuracies, whereas the Farpoint brackets do not. Hence Losmandy will mount appropriately and Farpoint's more expensive bracket needs additional machining from the customer to correctly mount.Overall, a real shame, since the farpoint bracket is lighter and slightly lower profile. However, functional design > all. And why PAY MORE than the gold standard they are simulating, when their copy wasn't designed to spec?😄

Great item and very sturdy and well crafted. My downside was the Meade 8inch ACF scope I attached this item to, the bolt pattern was off by about 1or2- 64th of an inch off and I could get one outer screw and a center screw in to the scope through the riser blocks, but not the other outer side screw opposite the one I did get to screw in. I'm not an engineer but fortunately the riser block are made of aluminum and I used a drill and wallowed out the hole side to side so the screw in doubt would enter the hole in the scope point on, and it worked. I so happy with this item, my thought is Meade made the screw pattern off by a bit and I think Farpoint made their item more accurately . BOTTOM LINE IS HAPPINESS
