I recently had to switch from a manual transmission car to an automatic. Automatic cars do not have an emergency brake in a convenient area and I felt I needed that extra security of an accessible emergency brake. This product looked pretty good online and I thought it would be high quality due to the price ($98) and the look of the pictures. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of the product I received. Instead of it being painted to the color chosen, it is covered in a large sticker. I got the orange one and the sticker already had many marks on it prior to installation. I suspect that this thing is going to look very rough in the near future. Also, the instructions are lacking important information. I read everything that came with it and watched the video. It is hard to understand if you are to connect the C clamp to the brake lever itself or behind it. Finally, by blowing up the one picture I could find of the particular situation, I discovered that it clamps ONTO the brake lever. Another thing to be aware of is how low does your dash come down. I have a 2022 Nissan Maxima and it comes down very low. That means there is only a small area available to attach it to and also that it cannot lay on my lap as shown in the video. It lays to the side on the seat with very little movement allowed. I wanted to get a brake stick that allowed me to drive the car normally but have access to an emergency brake as needed. I am able to accomplish this but my husband's feet are too large to go under the brake stick between the gas and brake. This is due to a lower dash so it is not as functional as I hoped. Also, it took about an hour to install and get into the proper fit to be useful. I had high hopes for this item and I am disappointed in the quality of this product. It should at least be painted rather than stickered. It looks like it was made is someone's garage. The price is far to high for what I received. If it was $50 less, that would be a more appropriate price given the quality and I definitely would have given a higher review. I removed one star for quality and one star for price. It does the job it was meant to do but it is not worth what they are charging. I would return it but that would require me to get someone to uninstall it, take it to the return place, buy something different and get someone to install that one. As a disabled person, this is just not feasible so I am stuck with a rough looking, expensive brake stick.
