Good quality iron that is smooth. Personally, I had to put duck tape in a few places so that it would not slip from my hands when they get sweaty from my work out.

Having two rings is not enough for proper training. Usually 6-8 rings on each arm is what is necessary to get the proper resistance used by martial artists. While the rings are of good quality and the insides are smooth so as not to scratch your arm, you'll need to drop a lot of money on buying enough of these to get proper training.Also, they are loud. Kind of a given, but they generate a lot of sound when clanged together, so you may want to find a place where you can't disturb others with your training.
