It seemed okay at first but seemed to be reading all over the place. I decided to do some testing (measuring materials known to be wet or dry) and I found it to be highly inaccurate at finding moisture. Mostly false negatives (says dry when wet) but some false positives too. I think at least part of the problem is that the pins the pins need insulation along the shafts. SO I will be returning this back to Amazon.

It does the job it's supposed to do. We test our square bale hay to show our customers on the spot when they pick up their hay that it is low moisture.

I have always relied on my different hay suppliers to sale me hay that has dried/cured enough so as to not mold while it is put up. However, having said that, I have purchased hay that has molded on me and that hurts, a lot. Hay is not cheap. This is an awesome tool to have around to test the hay. This way, I know if the moisture is too high, I will give that hay some extra time before stacking tightly in the barn. However, my next goal is the next load of hay I go to buy, if I do not know the seller and their quality they stand by, I plan on taking this little tool with me prior to loading and buying!
