This is great for taking out stitching that is a (mistake) I had to remove several quilting lines on some oven mitts I needed to redo, just beware the blade is sharp and it will cut if you nick yourself.

After a year of use, my opinion of this seam ripper has only gone down. It does not lock open, so is constantly retracting as you're trying to use it. To keep the blade out, you have to hold it open in a very awkward way that makes it even more difficult to maneuver to rip seams out. The curved rather than a straight blade only makes everything worse. Also, the plastic is flimsy and just waiting to break. A real loser.

This product is a seam ripper however I will not be using it. It is too long for good control and it is extremely sharp. I fear ripping the fabric or my flesh. I would have returned this item if I hadn’t thrown away the package.
