  • Tourna Quasi Gut is a premium multifilament that delivers maximum comfort, touch, and feel. Its meant to mimic the softness and playability of Natural Gut.
  • Quasi Gut Armor string is a great option for players that have tennis elbow given the soft and elastic nature of the string
  • Constructed with thousands of twisted microfibers, each infused with a premium thermo-elastic polyurethane resin, and wrapped with two ribbons of co-polyester
  • The soft PU infused multifilament inner core reduces shock and vibration, keeping the string comfortable and arm friendly while also making this a very powerful string
  • The poly ribbons increase the durability and reduce the fraying that multifilaments experience over time
  • This makes Quasi Gut ideal for hybrid setups where the other string is a stiffer polyester
  • The USRSA voted this the second highest rating for COMFORT out of 175 strings tested to date. Second only to pure Natural Gut.
  • Quasi Gut also received awards for placing 3rd in Touch and Feel, 9th in Playability, and 10th in Power.

TOURNA TENNIS STRING

Tourna Tennis Strings

Tourna Tennis Strings - Awards

All Tourna strings are crafted with the latest technology and are second to none in performance. The above award chart demonstrates excellence in both Poly strings as well as arm friendly multifilaments.

Tourna's Polyester strings are all made in Germany using advanced materials and including polyether, to help deliver a softer string that absorbs shock and increases comfort, while retaining incredible durability, power, resistance to movement, and tension maintenance. This blend of poly materials make it a true co-poly.

Tourna Big Hitter Poly's hold 3 of the top 5 slots for spin potential per the Racquet Sports Industry Magazine playtests. Black 7, Silver 7 Tour, and Blue Rough are in the top 5, with Black 7 as the best in spin of all strings ever tested, and still tops the charts to date. Silver 7 Tour is Black 7's stiffer counterpart and has been awarded the "Best Tension Maintenance Poly" EVER by Tennis Warehouse University Labs. Silver 7 Tour is also #3 in spin from the RSI playtests.

Tourna also makes arm friendly multifilaments that have been awarded as some of the most comfortable arm friendly strings on the market.

With the money you'll save playing with Tourna strings compared to more expensive brands, you'll be able to afford a new racquet and new shoes every couple months!!!! Play with Tourna strings with confidence and save money at the same time.

Shaped Polys

Many poly strings are shaped like the one above. Silver 7 Tour and Black 7 have seven sharp edges that bite into the ball upon impact and impart massive spin. These strings are both top 3 for Spin potential. Other shaped polys include Big Hitter Blue Rough and Big Hitter Silver Rough which have 8 sharp edges and then twisted. Tourna Grit is more of a textured poly that feels like sand paper and can really grab the ball upon impact. These Tourna polys are known for their control, low power, and spin.

Round Polys

Round poly strings are smooth and un-textured. The round nature of the string helps "snap back", which is the movement of strings upon impact. More snap back imparts more spin on the ball. Big Hitter Deuce, as shown above, is the first multi-colored infused poly giving you the best of both worlds of power and comfort. Smooth polys also are a favorite with synthetic gut and multifilaments because they don't wear the softer string down as quickly. Other round Tourna poly's include Black Zone, Big Red, Big Hitter Blue, and Big Hitter Silver. All of these Tourna Polys are meant to be softer more powerful, and easier on the arm than traditional poly strings.

soft tennis strings

Soft Synthtetic Strings

Multifilaments and Synthetic gut strings are the softest and most powerful tennis strings. Multifilaments are meant to mimic the elasticity, softness, and feel of natural gut. A favorite among players with tennis elbow. They are made with thousands of fibers, twisted together, and then dipped in a polyurethane to bond the fibers. Quasi Gut is extremely close to the feel of gut and soft on the arm. Quasi Gut Armor has tiny polyester wraps to help its durability. Synthetic Gut Armor is one of the best all around strings on the market for playability.

I have been trying different strings for months. I normally use a hybrid pattern but have been trouble with some tennis elbow for the first time in decades. Now I am using multifilament strings for my crosses and mains. These provide good durability and spin.

The Armor string is very soft and easy on the Arm and elbow. Sticky enough the crosses stick to the mains. I like the string have been using it for years. Some Poly's are very stiff and on a stiff racket your arm will get sore.

Even though the strings feel stiff to touch on the racquet, they're very comfortable at mid tensions. Quite long lasting as well.

Tourna stopped making reels for quasi gut a while ago. I’m not sure what I bought. Strung 55lbs on my ezone DR98, feels like a board with no power. Strung multifeel 55lbs feels soft and powerful. According to previous reviews I would suspect I got counterfeit product.

The string feels really nice. like a synthetic gut. Doesnt feel hard like a polyester. doesnt move a whole lot, wears well. Im a fan. Id use it again. Seems quite a bit stronger than a regular synthetic gut. Id expect a synthetic gut to be broken by now. This stuff is pretty good.

This string offers typical feeling of multi while intrinsically blend with extra bit control feeling coming from poly nature. I have my Donnay Allwood strung with Tourna Deuce as hybrid bed (Main: Deuce 17g @50lbs / Cross: QuasiGut Armour 17g @52lbls). Similar control but slightly a bit more pop compare with my usual setup (Main: AluPower 17g @46lbs / Cross: X-One Biphase 16g @50lbls) without any elbow issue. Most importantly, this setup costs me only about 1/3 of the price and I can restring my rackets more often to maintain more consistent response.

Pleasantly surprised on the comfort and bite of this string. Playable but almost too much spin bite at 60 pds, trying 55 pds next. Recommend string but lowest recommended tension for more comfort, depth and power. Very good multifilament.Update:Still a good string but trying 17g next to tame some of the bite and harshness.

Excelente cuerda multifilamento, suave crisp, buena para absorber vibraciones, y ayudar al brazo 💪, pierde tensión después de tres o cuatro partidos, pero es de las mejores multifilamentos y buen precio ….

It is soft and good for my elbow problem but moves around too much. A little too dead for my taste.

Great string for the price, easy on the arm feels great. Great for hybriding.I hybrid with big hitter blue. This string starts to fray on my crosses before breaking.

Best string ever. Great feel, soft on the elbow, and easy to string. The durability isn't the greatest if you hit a heavy ball, but if you have your own stringer it's not a big deal. I get about 7-10 hours of play on one string job. I play with a Wilson six one 16 x 18. The reel is a great deal and cheaper than buying one set at a time. I have yet to try the 16G, it might have more durability.
